TL;DR: A method of amplitude-compensated matched filtering is presented, which yields much better discrimination and a sharper autocorrelation peak compared with the classical matched spatial filter and the phase-only one.
Abstract: A method of amplitude-compensated matched filtering is presented. This yields much better discrimination and a sharper autocorrelation peak compared with the classical matched spatial filter and the phase-only one. By computer simulation in the case of alphanumeric characters, it is concluded that, although the phase information is significantly more important, in the case of a matched filter, the amplitude is important too. Three-dimensional graphs of autocorrelation and cross-correlation are also provided.

TL;DR: This investigation studied the preparation and clinical trial of DNA immunoadsorbent for hemoperfusion in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) therapy, and a patient with severe SLE was treated with the above adsorbent in hem operfusion.
Abstract: This investigation studied the preparation and clinical trial of DNA immunoadsorbent for hemoperfusion in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) therapy. DNA was complexed with blue tetralium (BT), then mixed with collodion, and finally adsorbed on macro-porous spherical polymeric adsorbent. The percentage of DNA thus immobilized was 98-98.5%, and no release was detected during hemoperfusion. A patient with severe SLE was treated with the above adsorbent in hemoperfusion. The patient was in coma, with high anti-DNA antibody and abnormal immune complex levels, which fell sharply from 56.34% to 0.8% after 2.5 h of whole-blood hemo perfusion. There were no major clinical complications, and 2 weeks later, her proteinuria level became normal and immune complex levels were sustained. She was then discharged from the hospital and has been in good health for more than 1 year.

TL;DR: In this paper, the transient forward bias current of double injecting devices was studied and it was shown that a much higher voltage is required in compensated material to obtain the same current as in the intrinsic; intrinsic and compensated samples show similar transient current responses but the compensated devices are much slower.
Abstract: The drift mobility in compensated a-Si:H as measured by standard T.O.F. is much less than in intrinsic material; presumably due to charge defects. In order to determine other differences in behavior between compensated and intrinsic material, we have studied the transient forward bias current of each in double injecting devices. We have found that: a) a much higher voltage is required in compensated material to obtain the same current as in the intrinsic; b) intrinsic and compensated samples show similar transient current responses but the compensated devices are much slower; c) the steady state current degrades in the compensated current but not in the intrinsic; and d) mobilities obtained by the voltage pulse technique in compensated material are at least three times larger than by the standard T.O.F. technique.

Abstract: The reaction of (u-RS)2 (XMgS) Fe2 (CO)2 with CpFe (CO)2I gave thirteen new compounds (u-RS) [CpFe (CO)2S] Fe2 (CO)4. Mossbauer spectra were obtained at 80K. Two quadrupote doubles (A set and B set) were present. The ratio of areas between A set and B set was close to 2∶1. The molecule of every compound contained two Fe (2+) which were in the same chemical environment of low spin state with a coordination number of six, and the Mossbauer parameters of the two Fe (2+), IS=0.2–0.3 mm/s, QS=0.7–0.8 mm/s. In addition, the molecule contained a Fe (3+) in low spin state which was proved by ESR. Its Mossbauer parameters, IS=0.4–0.5 mm/s. QS=1.5±1.6 mm/s, The molecular structure of (u-MeS) [u-CpFe (CO)2S] Fe2 (CO)4 was determined by X-ray diffraction, monoclinic form, space group P21/n z=4, unit cell parameters, a=7.90A, b=10.77A, c=22.53A.

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermodynamics of a one-dimensional diluted Heisenberg magnet of classical spins in the presence of an external magnetic field was calculated, and the solutions were obtained as sums over the properties of finite-length chains weighted by their probabilities of occurrence in the diluted system.
Abstract: The thermodynamics of a one-dimensional diluted Heisenberg magnet of classical spins in the presence of an external magnetic field is calculated. This model is representative of systems such as (CD3)4NMnxCu1-xCl3 and CsMnxMg1-xBr3. The magnetisation, susceptibility, energy and specific heat are determined as functions of the magnetic concentration and external field intensity for both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic couplings. The solutions presented are obtained as sums over the properties of finite-length chains weighted by their probabilities of occurrence in the diluted system.
