TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors found that more than four-fifths of the salt produced in China came from the seacoast, and that the increasing trend of salt production paralleled China's population growth.
Abstract: Ch'ing China's salt supply was widely dispersed, although more than four-fifths of the salt produced came from the seacoast. There were six sources of salt: seawater, salt lakes, brine wells, saline rock, gypsum mines and salty earth. Boiling and solar evaporation were the major production methods. The simplicity of the boiling method favored its wide use. Nevertheless, the solar evaporation eventually took the place of the boiling method, as fuels became scarcer in most salt-producing areas. A better natural resource base stimulated the production of salt along the North China seacoast to a greater extent than elsewhere in the nation. The increasing trend of salt production paralleled China's population growth. Geographical changes in salt production also reflected regional differences in this growth.

TL;DR: In this paper, salient features in the pronunciation of English by students from the Chinese stream in Singapore were described, and some of the features described also occur in the speech of those who were educated in the English stream.
Abstract: This paper is an attempt to describe some salient features in the pronunciation of English by students from the Chinese stream in Singapore. Some of the features described also occur in the speech of those who were educated in the English stream. Most students from the Chinese stream speak, in addition to Mandarin, at least one of the dialects of southern China, viz, the Cantonese, Min, and Hakka dialects. Many of them speak some Malay’, which is the country’s national language. Although for the most part, no attempt was made to determine the cause of the errors, in certain cases, efforts were made to trace the sources of such features or errors.

TL;DR: In this article, an approach for charged multiplicity distributions which is based on the fragmentation process with pionization always present is examined, and good fits have been obtained for pp collisions ofPlab from 12 to 300 GeV/c.
Abstract: An approach for charged multiplicity distributions which is based on the fragmentation process with pionization always present is examined. Good fits have been obtained for pp collisions ofPlab from 12 to 300 GeV/c. Prediction of the charged multiplicity distribution at 1500 GeV/c is also given. The third momentf3− should cross into the positive region.

TL;DR: In this article, a mixed two-component model which assumes diffractive excitation with pionization simultaneously occuring, was used to calculate the charge transfer cross-section, charge transfer fluctuation and the charge transferred in fixed number of forward and backward nega tive particles in various negative-charge topologies at 205 GeV/c.
Abstract: A mixed two-component model which assumes diffractive excitation with pionization simultaneously occuring, was used to calculate the charge transfer cross-section, the charge transfer fluctuation and the charge transfer in fixed number of forward and backward nega tive particles in various negative-charge topologies at 205 GeV/c. The fit is quite good.
