01 Jan 2020TL;DR: In this article, the authors have made an attempt to study the analysis of slope based on the numerical simulation using Geo-studio software, and they have indicated the correlation between factors of safety of embankment using different approaches, e.g., analytical approach and analysis as per "Guidelines for Earthwork in Indian Railway Projects" with finite element modeling.
Abstract: Slope stability analysis is of particular significance to geotechnical engineers for construction of railway embankments, canal, road embankments, earth dams, etc. Slope failures can have devastating social and commercial impacts. To assess the safe design of slopes, factor of safety values acts significant roles. Factor of safety values is used to define how close or far slopes are from failure either occurring naturally or induced by manmade activities. Traditional limit-equilibrium method is the most common technique for analysis of slope. In recent times, finite element method (FEM), a powerful, viable alternative technique is available to the geotechnical engineers. In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to study the analysis of slope based on the numerical simulation using Geo-studio software. The parameters of soil strata constituting the slope are determined from laboratory results. The main objective of the present study is to indicate the correlation between factors of safety of embankment using different approaches, e.g., analytical approach and analysis as per “Guidelines for Earthwork in Indian Railway Projects” with finite element modeling. Finally, the paper presents the correlation between the slope angle and factor of safety for cohesive and cohesionless soil.

TL;DR: In this article, a quantum circuit-based secure communication architecture has been envisioned, which consists of a novel quantum random number generator (QRNG) and swap gate-based quantum shuffler.
Abstract: In this article, quantum circuit-based secure communication architecture has been envisioned. Herein, all the proposed circuits and architecture are verified by IBM Qiskit and established on the quantum nanostructure. The salient goal of this hardware-based cryptographic structure in the quantum domain is to attain a diversified invulnerable quantum communication arrangement through a commendable post-CMOS technology. This architecture consists of a novel quantum random number generator (QRNG) and swap gate-based quantum shuffler. In our intended framework for cryptographically secured communication model as well as its implementation through a novel quantum encryption–decryption prototype by the random bits extracted from quantum Hadamard gates, rotation gate is (Rz) postulated on QRNG.

01 Dec 2012TL;DR: In this article, a modified model of AMBP based on temperature for cloud movement tracking has been proposed and presented in this paper for better prediction, which can be used for weather now-casting.
Abstract: Detection and identification of convective clouds can be done from thermal infrared (TIR) images (10.5–12.5µm) as clouds are associated with extremely low temperature. Clouds can be tracked from a given sequence of satellite images, and becomes useful for weather now-casting. There are several models available for cloud motion prediction. Adjusted Mean Based Prediction (AMBP) Model is one of them. A modified model of AMBP, based on temperature, for cloud movement tracking has been proposed and presented in this paper for better prediction.

01 Dec 2014TL;DR: An artificial neural network model for spectrum sensing in TV band specifically for identifying presence of audio signals is proposed and tries to remove the disadvantages of energy detection and cyclostationary feature detection technique, which is helpful for opportunistic cognitive radio applications.
Abstract: Here we propose an artificial neural network (ANN) model for spectrum sensing in TV band specifically for identifying presence of audio signals. The ANN model is trained with parameters which are a combination of cyclostationary and SNR based features like channel capacity, bandwidth efficiency, autocorrelation. The ANN model is trained based on a new decision making factor termed as utilization factor based on the above combination of attributes which lead to a method for detection of spectrum holes. This unique combination of hypotheses tries to remove the disadvantages of energy detection and cyclostationary feature detection technique, which is helpful for opportunistic cognitive radio applications.
