Significado funcional de la expresión del receptor de andrógenos en el hombre normal y en hombres infértiles

Abstract: Testosterone production begins at weeks 8 to 9 of gestation in the human; this a critical event for primary male sexual development in a 46,XY embryo (masculinization), and for normal secondary sexual development at puberty (virilization). Testosterone also is essential to maintain the secondary sexual characters during adulthood, and for the initiation and preservation of spermatogenesis. The androgen actions are mediated by the androgen receptor (AR). Upon binding of androgens to its receptor, the AR undergoes a conformational change that converts it from an inactive state to its active DNA-binding state. In the human testis, the AR immunoexpression has been detected exclusively in the Sertoli cells nuclei, in the Leydig cells, and in the peritubular myoid cells. These cells function have an strong relation with the AR concentration and expression. Mutations of the AR results in alteration of androgens actions, affecting the endocrine function at the testicular level and in other target organs, affecting also the reproductive function. The meaningful of the AR expression in the congenital and acquired functional testicular pathology, has not been established yet. In this review different immunohistochemical expression patterns of the AR, reported in the testis from normal men, and from patients with testicular pathology are evaluated; also the functional significance from the histological and molecular alterations of the AR are evaluated, in relation with the fertility dysfunction of these patients.

Índices de anillos de crecimiento en dos coníferas del Centro de México

Abstract: Se determinaron indices de anillo de crecimiento (IAC) en Abies religiosa (Kunth Schltdl. et Cham) (oyamel) y Pinus hartwegii (Lindl.) (pino) en un transecto sobre el Eje Neo-volcanico Transversal, en Mexico. La toma de muestras de anillos se realizo en seis montanas que presenan condiciones climaticas, geologia, edafologia suelo y vegetacion similares. Las montanas son: Nevado de Colima, Pico de Tancitaro, Nevado de Toluca, Cerro Tlaloc, La Malinche y Pico de Orizaba. Se colectaron virutas de incremento de al menos 20 arboles longevos de cada especie en cada sitio; sin embargo, para fines de este estudio se seleccionaron los arboles mas representativos quedando entre 6 y 17 arboles de cada especie en cada montana (144 arboles en total). Los resultados mostraron tendencias diferentes entre especies y montanas. Sin embargo, estimando valores promedio de IAC para el transecto, se observa que en el ano 1935 hubo una reduccion de crecimiento para ambas especies. El Oyamel mostro mayor variacion en los IAC. De las dos especies, solo en Oyamel se observo relacion significativa entre los indices de anillo y la precipitacion. Rev. iberoam. bioecon. cambio clim. Vol.1(1) 2015; 134-148

Innovación agua y TIC en contexto de grupos vulnerables en Nicaragua.

Abstract: The essay addresses the question of how to analyze the relationship between the use of information technologies and communication with respect to water resources. It is argued that developing countries like Nicaragua are more likely to investigate the type of DUI mode of innovation in the context of vulnerable groups living in rural areas. It was found that some innovations already identified are more of the frugal innovation type and, in this sense, are more suitable for vulnerable groups. In this case, it is concluded that the technological structural agreement and the institutional social agreement coexist and must be taken into account when analyzing innovations with regard to water resources and what is more important to capture the tacit knowledge that water users provide through the use of information and communication technology devices.

Inserción del tema gestión de riesgo y cambio climático como eje transversal en la elaboración de paquetes turísticos en la asignatura agencia de viajes y tour operadora

Abstract: El presente articulo se escribe en la linea de la investigacion-accion. En este marco se plantea la insercion del tema Gestion de Riesgo y Cambio Climatico como eje transversal de la asignatura Agencia de Viajes y Tour Operadoras, con el objetivo de promover el cuido por la madre tierra como parte integral y formadora de los futuros profesionales. Este trabajo de investigacion se ha realizado con ocho estudiantes del IV ano de la carrera “Turismo Sostenible” que imparte la FAREM-CARAZO.

Educación Virtual en los postgrados de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Jurídicas de la UNAN-Managua

Abstract: En la actualidad, se enfrentan muchas limitantes en cuanto al uso de estos recursos tecnologicos educativos y se esta trabajando en miras del fortalecimiento del area de informatica y en la elaboracion de planes de capacitaciones para el personal docente y estudiantes, con el fin de ir superando paulatinamente estas debilidades y lograr un mayor desarrollo en la virtualizacion de la educacion en los estudios de postgrado. La Facultad considera como prioritario la implementar de un modelo de capacitacion que posteriormente se aplique tanto a docentes como a estudiantes de los postgrados que se imparten actualmente en la Facultad. Previo a la implementacion de estas capacitaciones es recomendable que la Facultad adquiera equipamiento informatico y recursos humanos que vengan a fortalecer la Unidad TIC y de esta forma poner a disposicion de los participantes de posgrado, los medios y las herramientas necesarias para que puedan tener acceso a estas aplicaciones virtuales y se les pueda brindar el soporte tecnico necesaria a los usuarios.
