TL;DR: In this article, a computer-oriented procedure for simplification of a z -transfer function is presented, which consists of transformation of the z-transfer function into the w domain by the bilinear transformation, w=(z− l)/)z+ 1), and continued fraction expansion of the w -transfer functions into the Cauer second form, keeping the first several quotients and discarding others, converting the truncated continued fraction into ztransfer functions of low order.
Abstract: A computer-oriented procedure for the simplification of a z -transfer function is presented. The method consists of (1) transformation of the z-transfer function into the w domain by the bilinear transformation, w=(z− l)/)z+ 1), (2) continued fraction expansion of the w -transfer function into the Cauer second form, (3) keeping the first several quotients and discarding others, (4) converting the truncated continued fraction into z-transfer function of low order. An example is used to illustrate the rapid rate of convergence.

TL;DR: In this paper, the limiting current densities of Asahi ion-permselective membranes CK-1 and CK-2, Selemion ion-exchange membranes CMV, AMV, DMV and ASV have been measured with Ag-AgCl reversible electrode in various electrolyte solutions under 25°C and constant flow rate.
Abstract: The concentration polarization phenomena in ion exchange membrane electrodialysis have been studied with single exchange membrane cell. The limiting current densities of Asahi ion-permselective membranes CK-1 and CK-2, Selemion ion-exchange membranes CMV, AMV, DMV and ASV have been measured with Ag-AgCl reversible electrode in various electrolyte solutions under 25°C and constant flow rate. In sodium chloride solution, the cation exchange membrane is easier to occur concentration polarization than the anion exchange membrane. The limiting current density increases as the concentration of solution increases for the same kind of ion exchange membrane. The experimental limiting current densities of Selemion CMV and AMV in NaCl, KCl, MgCl2, CaCl2, BaCl2, Na2SO4, NaOH and HCl aqueous solutions are measured. The results show that the limiting current density increases as the ion mobility and diffusivity increase, and is affected by the transference number of ion. For the mixture of electrolyte solution, there are linear relationship between limiting current density and equivalent fraction of electrolytes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the fundamental relation and characteristic equation for population systems are derived with reference to an improved Lexis diagram based on the concept of feedback, and these results are then confirmed by differential equations on the analogy of a belt conveyor process.
Abstract: Population dynamics, an important problem in ecology and demography, is nothing but a positive feedback, so it is natural to study it by feedback control technique. In this paper the fundamental relation and characteristic equation for population systems are derived with reference to an improved Lexis diagram based on the concept of feedback. These results are then confirmed by differential equations on the analogy of a belt conveyor process. It is concluded that the population system is a dynamic system with input, output and positive feedback, and can be treated in the same way as an engineering system with distributed parameters by the technique developed in feedback control engineering.

TL;DR: In this article, an analysis is made to calculate the input impedance of a loop antenna for radiation of the VLF whistler mode in the magnetosphere, and it is shown that the loop input reactance is in substantial agreement with the self-inductance of the loop in free space and the radiation resistance for a small loop can be as large as ∼10 2 Ω.
