TL;DR: This lead-free quantum rod replacement has demonstrated to be an effective method to create an absorber layer that increases light harvesting and charge collection for photovoltaic applications in its perovskite phase.
Abstract: Herein, the fabrication of a lead-free cesium tin halide perovskite produced via a simple solvothermal process is reported for the first time. The resulting CsSnX3 (X = Cl, Br, and I) quantum rods show composition-tunable photoluminescence (PL) emissions over the entire visible spectral window (from 625 to 709 nm), as well as significant tunability of the optical properties. In this study, we demonstrate that through hybrid materials (CsSnX3) with different halides, the system can be tunable in terms of PL. By replacing the halide of the CsSnX3 quantum rods, a power conversion efficiency of 12.96% under AM 1.5 G has been achieved. This lead-free quantum rod replacement has demonstrated to be an effective method to create an absorber layer that increases light harvesting and charge collection for photovoltaic applications in its perovskite phase.

TL;DR: In this paper, a 60 GHz millimeter-wave on-chip Yagi antenna fabricated with a 0.18-mum CMOS process is presented, where a feeding network is designed in a coplanar waveguide technology.
Abstract: This letter presents a 60-GHz millimeter-wave on-chip Yagi antenna fabricated with a 0.18-mum CMOS process. A feeding network is designed in a coplanar waveguide (CPW) technology. The 0.18-mum six-metal-layer CMOS process allows the on-chip antenna to utilize a simple CPW-to-coplanar-stripline feed transition and the first metal layer to implement a reflector strip. The CMOS antenna chip size is 1.1 x 0.95 mm2 . A FEM-based 3D full-wave electromagnetic solver, the HFSS, is used for design simulation. The measured antenna input VSWR is less than two from 55 to 65 GHz. The front-to-back ratio of the Yagi antenna is about 9 dB. The measured maximum antenna power gain is about -10 dBi. The simulated antenna radiation efficiency is about 10%.

TL;DR: The results show that both MTUNN and PENN outperform conventional MLP in the study and an idea to render information at suitable places rather than mixing all available information at the beginning in neural network operations is proposed.
Abstract: Accurate forecasts are the base for correct decisions in revenue management. This paper addresses two novel neural network structures for short-term railway passenger demand forecasting. An idea to render information at suitable places rather than mixing all available information at the beginning in neural network operations is proposed. The first proposed network structure is multiple temporal units neural network (MTUNN), which deals with distinctive input information via designated connections in the network. The second proposed network structure is parallel ensemble neural network (PENN), which deals with different input information in several individual models. The outputs of the individual models are then integrated to obtain final forecasts. Conventional multi-layer perceptron (MLP) is also constructed for comparison purposes. The results show that both MTUNN and PENN outperform conventional MLP in the study. On average, MTUNN can obtain 8.1% improvement of MSE and 4.4% improvement of MAPE in comparison with MLP. PENN can achieve 10.5% improvement of MSE and 3.3% improvement of MAPE in comparison with MLP.
