TL;DR: It was showed that MSDs of body parts other than the back are also prevalent, especially in the neck, shoulders, hands and wrists, and some industries, including “Basic Metal Industries” and “Buildings Construction,” were among the top ten for multiple body parts.
Abstract: Musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) is a common problem among workers. In spite of the numerous reports on MSD in various specific groups of workers, few data on the prevalence in the general working population are available except for back pain. We analyzed the information collected through a nationwide survey in Taiwan in 1994 to estimate the prevalence of MSD by age, gender, and education level and identify high-risk industries. In the survey, a standard questionnaire was distributed to a representative sample of 22,475 non-self-employed workers in Taiwan. National estimates were obtained by applying a weight to each participant. Among the sampled workers, 18,942 (84.3%) participated, and 37.0% (standard error=0.4%) had MSD. Female workers had a significantly higher overall prevalence than male workers (39.5% vs. 35.2%, p<0.05). Education and age also had significant associations with MSD (p<0.001 in both genders). "Lower back and waist" were the most frequently affected body parts (18.3% among males and 19.7% among females), but the prevalence of MSDs of the neck, shoulders, hands and wrists were also above 10%. The top ten high-risk major industries for MSD of various body parts for each gender were identified, and some industries, including "Basic Metal Industries" and "Buildings Construction," were among the top ten for multiple body parts. Our study showed that MSDs of body parts other than the back are also prevalent, especially in the neck, shoulders, hands and wrists. We also identified high-risk industries for further research and intervention.

TL;DR: The presence ofHCV RNA in saliva and seminal fluid of patients positive for serum HCV RNA suggests sexual and household contact as likely modes of nonparenteral transmission of type C hepatitis.
Abstract: Approximately half of the patients with type C hepatitis do not have a history of parenteral exposure. The route of nonparenteral infection remains unknown. To evaluate the possible role of body fluids, the existence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA in saliva, urine, seminal fluid, and ascites was examined by "nested" polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Amplification of the HCV 5' noncoding sequences was carried out. The amplified product was confirmed by Southern blot hybridization and restriction endonuclease digestion. Among 34 patients with chronic liver disease who were positive for anti-HCV and serum HCV RNA, the prevalence of HCV RNA in body fluids was 100% (7/7) in ascites, 48% (15/31) in saliva, 24% (4/17) in seminal fluid, and 7% (2/29) in urine. The body fluids collected from 3 healthy subjects and 5 patients with chronic liver disease who were positive for anti-HCV but negative for serum HCV RNA were all negative for HCV RNA. Hence, the potential infectivity of body fluids in patients testing negative for serum HCV RNA can probably be discounted. Conversely, the presence of HCV RNA in saliva and seminal fluid of patients positive for serum HCV RNA suggests sexual and household contact as likely modes of nonparenteral transmission of type C hepatitis. Furthermore, the high prevalence of HCV RNA in ascites and saliva may have important implications in medical and dental practice.

TL;DR: This article proposes a multicast and broadcast service (MBS) architecture for WiMAX that is based on MBMS and enhances the MBS architecture for mobile WiMAX to overcome the shortcoming of limited video broadcast performance over the baseline MBS model.
Abstract: Multimedia stream service provided by broadband wireless networks has emerged as an important technology and has attracted much attention. An all-IP network architecture with reliable high-throughput air interface makes orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access (OFDMA)-based mobile worldwide interoperability for microwave access (mobile WiMAX) a viable technology for wireless multimedia services, such as voice over IP (VoIP), mobile TV, and so on. One of the main features in a WiMAX MAC layer is that it can provide'differentiated services among different traffic categories with individual QoS requirements. In this article, we first give an overview of the key aspects of WiMAX and describe multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) architecture of the 3GPP. Then, we propose a multicast and broadcast service (MBS) architecture for WiMAX that is based on MBMS. Moreover, we enhance the MBS architecture for mobile WiMAX to overcome the shortcoming of limited video broadcast performance over the baseline MBS model. We also give examples to demonstrate that the proposed architecture can support better mobility and offer higher power efficiency.

TL;DR: In this paper, a nonperturbation theory for describing decoherence dynamics of electron charges in a double quantum dot gated by electrodes is developed. But the authors do not consider the back-reaction of the reservoirs being fully taken into account.
Abstract: In this paper, we develop a nonperturbation theory for describing decoherence dynamics of electron charges in a double quantum dot gated by electrodes. We extend the Feynman-Vernon influence functional theory to fermionic environments and derive an exact master equation for the reduced density matrix of electrons in the double dot for a general spectral density at arbitrary temperature and bias. We then investigate the decoherence dynamics of the double-dot charge qubit with backreaction of the reservoirs being fully taken into account. Time-dependent fluctuations and leakage effects induced from the dot-reservoir coupling are explicitly explored. The charge qubit dynamics from the Markovian to non-Markovian regime is systematically studied under various manipulating conditions. The decay behavior of charge qubit coherence and the corresponding relaxation time ${T}_{1}$ and dephasing time ${T}_{2}$ are analyzed in detail.
