TL;DR: In this paper, the shear strength of steel-concrete composite beams was analyzed based on the respective variable parameters and the methodology used by ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System) was adopted for this purpose.
Abstract: Structural design of a composite beam is influenced by two main factors, strength and ductility. For the design to be effective for a composite beam, say an RC slab and a steel I beam, the shear strength of the composite beam and ductility have to carefully estimate with the help of displacements between the two members. In this investigation the shear strengths of steel-concrete composite beams was analyzed based on the respective variable parameters. The methodology used by ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System) has been adopted for this purpose. The detection of the predominant factors affecting the shear strength steel-concrete composite beam was achieved by use of ANFIS process for variable selection. The results show that concrete compression strength has the highest influence on the shear strength capacity of composite beam.

TL;DR: The AGORA (Antimicrobials: A Global Alliance for Optimizing their Rational Use in Intra-Abdominal Infections) project as discussed by the authors is an international task force from 79 different countries has joined this project by sharing a document on the rational use of antimicrobial therapy for patients with IAIs.
Abstract: Intra-abdominal infections (IAI) are an important cause of morbidity and are frequently associated with poor prognosis, particularly in high-risk patients. The cornerstones in the management of complicated IAIs are timely effective source control with appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Empiric antimicrobial therapy is important in the management of intra-abdominal infections and must be broad enough to cover all likely organisms because inappropriate initial antimicrobial therapy is associated with poor patient outcomes and the development of bacterial resistance. The overuse of antimicrobials is widely accepted as a major driver of some emerging infections (such as C. difficile), the selection of resistant pathogens in individual patients, and for the continued development of antimicrobial resistance globally. The growing emergence of multi-drug resistant organisms and the limited development of new agents available to counteract them have caused an impending crisis with alarming implications, especially with regards to Gram-negative bacteria. An international task force from 79 different countries has joined this project by sharing a document on the rational use of antimicrobials for patients with IAIs. The project has been termed AGORA (Antimicrobials: A Global Alliance for Optimizing their Rational Use in Intra-Abdominal Infections). The authors hope that AGORA, involving many of the world's leading experts, can actively raise awareness in health workers and can improve prescribing behavior in treating IAIs.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new three-step model was introduced as a replica of the classic three step model while integrating it with the theory of planned behaviour, which has been criticised for its linearity, unsuitability for continuous change and inability to incorporate leader and follower relationship dynamics.
Abstract: Kurt Lewin has been regarded as the father of planned change. His classical three-step model though has provided the basis for different models of change, yet has been criticized for its linearity, unsuitability for continuous change and inability to incorporate leader–follower relationship dynamics. This study has responded to various criticisms by introducing new three-step model as a replica of the three-step model while integrating it with the theory of planned behaviour. For leader–follower relationship dynamics, this study tested the impact of well-needed authentic leadership on employee perceptions during change. Following positivistic approach and deductive reasoning, this study used causal design to collect primary data through Questionnaire survey based on simple random sampling technique. The data were collected from 258 employees of three public sector hospitals of Pakistan undergoing restructuring and analysed through structural equation modelling using AMOS. The results suggest that ...

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of the reconstruction and identification algorithms for electrons and photons with the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented, based on proton-proton collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and recorded in 2016-2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 136 fb$^{-1}$.
Abstract: The performance is presented of the reconstruction and identification algorithms for electrons and photons with the CMS experiment at the LHC. The reported results are based on proton-proton collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and recorded in 2016-2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 136 fb$^{-1}$. Results obtained from lead-lead collision data collected at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=$ 5.02 TeV are also presented. Innovative techniques are used to reconstruct the electron and photon signals in the detector and to optimize the energy resolution. Events with electrons and photons in the final state are used to measure the energy resolution and energy scale uncertainty in the recorded events. The measured energy resolution for electrons produced in Z boson decays in proton-proton collision data ranges from 2 to 5%, depending on electron pseudorapidity and energy loss through bremsstrahlung in the detector material. The energy scale in the same range of energies is measured with an uncertainty smaller than 0.1 (0.3)% in the barrel (endcap) region in proton-proton collisions and better than 1 (3)% in the barrel (endcap) region in heavy ion collisions. The timing resolution for electrons from Z boson decays with the full 2016-2018 proton-proton collision data set is measured to be 200 ps.

TL;DR: In this article, a poly(lactic acid) PLA was plasticized with low molecular weight poly(ethylene glycol) PEG-200 to improve the ductility of PLA, while maintaining the plasticizer content at maximum 10 wt%.
Abstract: Poly(lactic acid) PLA was plasticized with low molecular weight poly(ethylene glycol) PEG-200 to improve the ductility of PLA, while maintaining the plasticizer content at maximum 10 wt%. Low molecular weight of PEG enables increased miscibility with PLA and more efficient reduction of glass transition temperature (Tg). This effect is enhanced not only by the low molecular weight but also by its higher content. The tensile properties demonstrated that the addition of PEG-200 to PLA led to an increase of elongation at break (>7000%), but a decrease of both tensile strength and tensile modulus. The plasticization of the PLA with PEG-200 effectively lowers Tg as well as cold-crystallization temperature, increasing with plasticizer content. SEM micrographs reveal plastic deformation and few long threads of a deformed material are discernible on the fracture surface. The use of low molecular weight PEG-200 reduces the intermolecular force and increases the mobility of the polymeric chains, thereby improving the flexibility and plastic deformation of PLA.
