TL;DR: For the first time, with the help of mathematical modelling, clarified the properties of the received analytical relations and set the limits possibilities of OFDM (N-OFDM) signal demodulation method in the background of impulse signals in the integrated radar and telecommunication systems.
Abstract: For the first time, with the help of mathematical modelling, clarified the properties of the received analytical relations and set the limits possibilities of OFDM (N-OFDM) signal demodulation method in the background of impulse signals in the integrated radar and telecommunication systems. It was found out that at angular spacing’s of sources of pulsed and OFDM signals at a value that not less than 0,75 width of a secondary beam. The same applies to the effects of active interference.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method for estimating and forecasting the state of the monitored object in intelligent decision support systems by using advanced fuzzy temporal models of the object state, taking into account the type of uncertainty and noise of initial data.
Abstract: In order to objectively and completely analyze the state of the monitored object with the required level of efficiency, the method for estimating and forecasting the state of the monitored object in intelligent decision support systems was improved. The essence of the method is to provide an analysis of the current state of the monitored object and short-term forecasting of the state of the monitored object. Objective and complete analysis is achieved using advanced fuzzy temporal models of the object state, taking into account the type of uncertainty and noise of initial data. The novelty of the method is the use of an improved procedure for processing initial data in conditions of uncertainty, an improved procedure for training artificial neural networks and an improved procedure for topological analysis of the structure of fuzzy cognitive models. The essence of the training procedure is the training of synaptic weights of the artificial neural network, the type and parameters of the membership function and the architecture of individual elements and the architecture of the artificial neural network as a whole. The procedure of forecasting the state of the monitored object allows for multidimensional analysis, accounting and indirect influence of all components of the multidimensional time series with their different time shifts relative to each other in conditions of uncertainty. The method allows increasing the efficiency of data processing at the level of 12–18 % using additional advanced procedures. The proposed method can be used in decision support systems of automated control systems (ACS DSS) for artillery units, special-purpose geographic information systems. It can also be used in ACS DSS for aviation and air defense and ACS DSS for logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the direct effect of military commander's transformational and transactional leadership styles towards their subordinates' job satisfaction and the indirect effect through their affective commitment as a mediator variable.
Abstract: The objective of the study was to empirically investigate the direct effect of military commander’s transformational and transactional leadership styles towards their subordinates’ job satisfaction and the indirect effect through their affective commitment as a mediator variable. Several studies have determined that the job satisfaction level of military personnel is lower than employees of non-military organizations. This lower level of job satisfaction may be attributable to inherent stress factors associated with the work environment of military employees. The consequences of lower job satisfaction levels will cause reduction in personnel performance, an increase in withdrawal, and counter-productive behaviours. This study seeks to determine whether the two different leadership styles have direct effects on the subordinates’ job satisfaction or is indirectly mediated by affective commitment using PLS SEM approach. This study employed quantitative methods for data collection. The research instruments consisted of structured questionnaires using MLQ (Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire) developed by Bass and Avolio [31], the OCQ (Organizational Commitment Questionnaire) developed by Mowday, Steers, and Porter [32], and the MSQ (Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire) developed by Weiss and Dawis [30] which were adapted to measure the different dimensions, namely Transformational and Transactional Leadership Styles, Organizational Commitment, and Job Satisfaction. A total of 54 junior officers and 331 other ranks from the Royal Signals Corp were selected as respondents using simple random sampling techniques. PLS SEM analysis was used to assess the direct and indirect effect. The findings showed that the direct effect of transformational leadership to job satisfaction was significant. On the other hand, transactional leadership’s direct effect to job satisfaction was non-significant. It was also found that Affective Organizational Commitment indirectly affects the relationship between transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and job satisfaction.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed that the most effective tool of public diplomacy is the media and social networks, which, as mass media, should work to promote national ideas among the population of the country and outside Ukraine.
Abstract: Since 1991, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly changed the vector of the country's development depending on the views and intentions of the ruling politicians, which has led to negative consequences for the development of all spheres of activity of Ukrainians. One of these consequences is a decrease in the country's authority in the world community. Among the threats facing our state on the way to protection of national interests and national security, the most vulnerable link was the information sphere. It should be noted that the issue of coordinated and proper use of communication opportunities at all levels of public policy – public diplomacy, public relations, military relations, information and psychological operations, measures aimed at promoting the goals of the state has always been acute. Public diplomacy is the realization of the soft power of the country in the international arena, the promotion of the interests of the state in the world by mobilizing the support of the foreign community. This support is achieved by stimulating the desire of the foreign community to consume the ideals of democracy, good governance, integrity, prosperity, security, success and unlimited opportunities for human development. Public diplomacy is one of the components of strategic communications, which has a key task – the formation of the image of the state and its institutions at the international level, the consolidation of important brands in the global information space. The development of state branding should be based primarily on the formation of the state/institutional narrative and broadcast to different target audiences. Thus, public diplomacy involves the formation of the image of all institutional components of the state. The success of economic growth and the dynamic development of relations with other countries largely depends on how the country's brand is formed and promoted in the domestic and global markets. Creating a positive image of the country should be the subject of special attention of the Government and any composition of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine. The most effective tool of public diplomacy is the media and social networks, which, as mass media, should work to promote national ideas among the population of the country and outside Ukraine.

TL;DR: In this article, the reliability and maintainability requirements for the mobility means of surface-to-air-missile systems (SAMs) are considered, taking into account the impact of the hierarchical-branched structure of a SAM system, the values of the reliability of the mobility mean on their effectiveness under real conditions, and the coefficient of effectiveness sustainment.
Abstract: General principles regarding the complex substantiation of reliability and maintainability requirements are considered for the mobility means of surface ‐ to ‐ air missile systems (SAMs), which take into account the impact of the hierarchical-branched structure of SAM system, the values of the reliability and maintainability of the mobility means on their effectiveness under the real conditions. The coefficient of effectiveness sustainment is used as an indicator of the effectiveness of the mobility means of SAMs, which is the ratio of the characteristic of the output effect, taking into account the reliability and maintainability of the mobility means to its value in the case when the mobility means do not fail. The coefficient, used here, is the function of mean distance between failures (MDBF) and the average recovery rate of the combat and technical mobility means of SAM system.
