TL;DR: In this article, NiO nanoparticles were synthesized at different annealing temperatures via a thermal decomposition process and characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-vis spectroscopy.
Abstract: NiO nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized at different annealing temperatures via a thermal decomposition process and characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The NiO NPs prepared at higher annealing temperature (400 °C) were shown excellent adsorption and photocatalytic activity toward textile dyes reactive black 5 (RB-5) and methylene blue (MB). About 87.2% of RB-5 in 60 min and 70.2% of MB in 5 h was removed using NiO NPs synthesized at 400 °C. The photocatalytic degradation of MB was found to increase with an increase in the annealing temperature of the catalyst. Moreover, the kinetic study revealed that the adsorption and photocatalytic activity of NiO NPs followed the second and first-order kinetics, respectively. The enhanced performance of NiO NPs toward dye removal might be related to its optical and structural properties.

TL;DR: A comparative study is carried using three nature-inspired algorithms namely Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization and Cuckoo Search on clustering problem and concludes that under the given set of parameters, cuckoo search works efficiently for majority of the dataset and levy flight plays an important role.
Abstract: In this paper, a comparative study is carried using three nature-inspired algorithms namely Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Cuckoo Search (CS) on clustering problem. Cuckoo search is used with levy flight. The heavy-tail property of levy flight is exploited here. These algorithms are used on three standard benchmark datasets and one real-time multi-spectral satellite dataset. The results are tabulated and analysed using various techniques. Finally we conclude that under the given set of parameters, cuckoo search works efficiently for majority of the dataset and levy flight plays an important role.

TL;DR: A secure node disjoint multipath routing protocol for wireless sensor networks is proposed and shows better results in terms of packet delivery fraction, energy consumption, and end-to-end delay compared to the ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector routing.
Abstract: The objective of energy efficient routing protocol is to increase the operational lifetime of the wireless sensor networks Multipath routing protocols enhance the lifetime of the wireless sensor networks by distributing traffic among multiple paths instead of a single optimal path Transmission of secured data is also an important research concern in the wireless sensor networks In this paper, a secure node disjoint multipath routing protocol for wireless sensor networks is proposed Here, the data packets are transmitted in a secure manner by using the digital signature crypto system It is compared with an ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector routing protocol It shows better results in terms of packet delivery fraction, energy consumption, and end-to-end delay compared to the ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector routing

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the techniques, methods of construction of stone columns, mechanisms of stone column behaviour under load and associated design philosophies along with some practical findings from recent research programs.
Abstract: Stone columns have been used as an effective technique for improving the engineering behaviour of soft clayey grounds and loose silt deposits. The soil improvement via stone columns are achieved from accelerating the consolidation of weak soil due to shortened drainage path, increasing the load carrying capacity and/or settlement reduction due to inclusion of stronger granular material. This paper discusses the techniques, methods of construction of stone columns, mechanisms of stone column behaviour under load and associated design philosophies along with some practical findings from recent research programs.

TL;DR: A light-weight application, CatchPhish which predicts the URL legitimacy without visiting the website, using hostname, full URL, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) features and phish-hinted words from the suspicious URL for the classification using the Random forest classifier.
Abstract: There exists many anti-phishing techniques which use source code-based features and third party services to detect the phishing sites. These techniques have some limitations and one of them is that they fail to handle drive-by-downloads. They also use third-party services for the detection of phishing URLs which delay the classification process. Hence, in this paper, we propose a light-weight application, CatchPhish which predicts the URL legitimacy without visiting the website. The proposed technique uses hostname, full URL, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) features and phish-hinted words from the suspicious URL for the classification using the Random forest classifier. The proposed model with only TF-IDF features on our dataset achieved an accuracy of 93.25%. Experiment with TF-IDF and hand-crafted features achieved a significant accuracy of 94.26% on our dataset and an accuracy of 98.25%, 97.49% on benchmark datasets which is much better than the existing baseline models.
