01 Jan 2021TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an indirect link discovery (ILD) scheme which minimizes the number of messages required to fetch the links in OpenFlow devices by sending a single Packet-Out (P-out) across every OpenFlow switch (OFS), which circulates it to successive nodes.
Abstract: The removal of the control plane from a Software Defined Network (SDN) helps avoid flexibility issues that exist in the traditional networks thus enabling SDN to leverage more bandwidth utilization and hence renders it more suitable for big data analytics. A pertinent issue in network arises how the controller allocates network resources based on-demand/needs, viz. allocation of less delay path, optimal routing, less error path. The controller handles this issue by having global information of all the links in the network. SDN leverages protocols like link layer discovery protocol (LLDP) and broadcast domain discovery protocol (BDDP) for the identification of links in OpenFlow devices which are directly and indirectly connected. The detection of direct/indirect links between OpenFlow devices requires a considerable number of messages to be sent across every active interface of the switch thus puts this substantial load on the controller. This paper proposes an indirect link discovery (ILD) scheme which minimizes the number of messages required to fetch the links in OpenFlow devices by sending a single Packet-Out (P-out) across every OpenFlow switch (OFS), which circulates it to successive nodes. Experiments performed in Mininet shows the number of P-out messages and packet loss for fetching equivalent topology ILD shows a reduction in between 30.9–78.95% and 48.95–71.4% as compared to the state of art protocols with varied topologies.

01 Jan 2018TL;DR: A cooperative cluster-based energy-efficient model that is formed by two boundary nodes of two different clusters and acts as a cooperative MIMO antenna and transfers data to cluster to reach the sink or destination making the network more reliable.
Abstract: Data integrity and conservation of energy is one of the important issues in today’s wireless network world. In wireless sensor network, the sensors are formed into different clusters and cooperatively communicate with other clusters. A cooperative cluster-based energy-efficient model is proposed to save the energy. In this model, every cluster has a cluster head that will monitor all the sensors in a cluster. The formation of cluster reduces the energy consumption compared to non-clustered WSN. In proposed model, a big MIMO antenna is way to communicate between the clusters. This big MIMO is formed by two boundary nodes of two different clusters and acts as a cooperative MIMO antenna and transfers data to cluster to reach the sink or destination making the network more reliable.

TL;DR: In this article, the optical properties of the 7.O5O.7 dimeric compound were investigated using thin prism experimental method with the help of He-Ne laser of wavelength 633 nm.
Abstract: In the present study, the optical properties of the 7.O5O.7 dimeric compound are reported. This dimeric compound exhibits typical smectic A to smectic F phase transition, and the main focus of our study is to observe the optical behaviour in SmA phase. In the dimeric compound, the two mesogens are connected by a linkage group or spacer. The presence of the linkage group and the terminal alkyl chains plays a vital role to change the behaviour of this compound as compared to the traditional monomeric compounds. Study of birefringence, refractive indices and normalised polarisation are essential to investigate the optical nature in liquid crystalline compounds. The optical study in our compound is carried out by using the thin prism experimental method with the help of He-Ne laser of wavelength 633 nm. Four-parameter model was used to obtained theoretically measured refractive indices and birefringence data. The theoretical results are then compared with the experimental results. Both the experimenta...

01 Jan 2018TL;DR: To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed facial expression recognition technique, results are compared with other existing PCA- and 2DPCA-based methods in terms of overall classification accuracy.
Abstract: In this article, a facial expression recognition technique has been proposed. In this method, initially, a face image is segmented into different sub-images like left eye, right eye, mouth, nose, etc. Then, two-dimensional principal component analysis (2DPCA)-based transformation is performed on each sub-image separately to extract the features. Lastly, classification operation is made to categorize the expression of faces. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, results are compared with other existing PCA- and 2DPCA-based methods in terms of overall classification accuracy. Results for the proposed method are found to be encouraging.
