Abstract: The adsorption behavior of two representative pharmaceutically active compounds and widespread used drugs (ibuprofen and clofibric acid) were evaluated using a relatively abundant and inexpensive material, bamboo waste, as adsorbent prepared via ZnCl2 activation process followed by microwave heating. The Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubunin–Raushkevich, and Temkin models were applied to describe the adsorption isotherm for the two systems. The goodness of curve fitting in the various models was done in accordance with linear regression coefficients and various error functions. The Langmuir isotherm model was applicable for describing the binding data for both ibuprofen (IBP) and clofibric acid (CA) onto activated bamboo waste (ABW) with the following order of adsorption capacity: IBP (278.55 mg·g–1) > CA (229.35 mg·g–1). The Gibbs free energy of −6.15 and −5.56 kJ mol–1 estimated for IBP and CA onto ABW unravelled the spontaneous nature of this adsorbent toward these adsorbates. Both pH and temperature exhibited...

Abstract: In this study, we have developed a green and single-step process for the fabrication of Ag@AgCl nanoparticles (NPs) using the leaf extract of Momordica charantia. This method does not require the utilization of any surfactant/halide source or external energy. The uniqueness of the developed method lies in its fast synthesis rates (1 min for Ag@AgCl NPs). The phytochemicals present in the leaf extract act as a reducing as well as stabilizing agent and are responsible for the formation of Ag@AgCl NPs. The synthesized Ag@AgCl NPs exhibited a catalytic activity for the reduction of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine (DNPH). It followed the pseudo-first order reaction and the rate constant (k) for the reduction of 2,4-DNPH was found to be 5.2 × 10−2 min−1. For the first time, the reduction of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine was reported using Ag@AgCl nanoparticles as a catalyst.

Abstract: Tin oxide nanostructures represent an important class of crystalline semiconducting nanomaterials. Being wide band gap (3.6 eV) n-type semiconductors, these materials have the inherent potential to be used as catalysts, sensors, anode materials etc. Moreover, these materials have permitted rational structure design and control over the band gap by suitable modifications. This structure–property relationship can be readily explored by taking advantage of the knowledge of their detailed electronic environment, which enables fine-tuning of their functionalities for desired applications.

Abstract: The demand for Blockchain innovation and the significance of its application has inspired ever-progressing exploration in various scientific and practical areas. Even though it is still in the initial testing stage, the blockchain is being viewed as a progressive solution to address present-day technology concerns, such as decentralization, identity, trust, character, ownership of data, and information-driven choices. Simultaneously, the world is facing an increase in the diversity and quantity of digital information produced by machines and users. While effectively looking for the ideal approach to storing and processing cloud data, the blockchain innovation provides significant inputs. This article reviews the application of blockchain technology for securing cloud storage.
