TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of graphene in palm biodiesel on the compression ignition engine were investigated. And the results indicated that the presence on graphene reduces the ignition delay and improves the premixed combustion.
Abstract: An experimental study to unveil the effects of graphene into palm biodiesel on the compression ignition engine is conducted. Transesterified palm oil biodiesel is mixed with commercially available graphene through ultrasonication process. The study is performed by varying the engine loading conditions using the diesel, the blend of diesel and palm biodiesel blend, and nano-dispersed palm biodiesel blend at dosing levels of 50 ppm, 75 ppm, and 100 ppm. Results indicate that the presence on graphene reduces the ignition delay and improves the premixed combustion. Engine results indicate that the addition of graphene has resulted in 2.5% higher thermal efficiency. Due to graphene, the emission levels of unburned hydrocarbon are decreased by 17% and those of carbon monoxide are decreased by 34%, whereas the emission of oxides of nitrogen is increased slightly (3.8%).

12 Jun 2015TL;DR: In this paper, a smart energy system for the residential customers is developed and a smart switch board which can curtail the need to upgrade to smart appliances to make the system more economic. But no effort has been made to develop an economic model for the customers which would play a key role in better acceptance of the scheme.
Abstract: Electrical utilities are suffering from huge losses due to power theft, inadequate usage of energy, unpaid bills, distorted power quality. Many viable solutions are proposed out of which smart energy metering, energy management system and smart home automation are some that seems to be potent enough. These technologies are presently used by developed countries. Under meter data acquisition system of Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reform program (R-APDRP) scheme in the year 2009–10, India plans to develop Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). But no effort has been made to develop an economic model for the customers which would play a key role in better acceptance of the scheme. In this paper, a smart energy system for the residential customers is developed and a smart switch board which can curtail the need to upgrade to smart appliances to make the system more economic. Further, a Virtual Instrumentation has been developed which can be operate in any computer to function as In Home Display (IHD) for Energy Management System (EMS).

01 Jun 2018TL;DR: A comprehensive review on Diels-Alder based self-healing composites reinforced with nano-fillers from the last decade have been reported in this paper, where the present status followed by future scope in this area has also been discussed briefly at the end of this review.
Abstract: Self-healing polymers are the materials which can heal the internal cracks or damages automatically without any external intervention. The concept of self-healing has been derived from the biological systems such as human bone or skin which can heal automatically. This paper reviews the self-healing polymers based on Diels-Alder reaction where diene and dienophile groups form reversible covalent bond between them in the polymer matrix. A comprehensive review on Diels-Alder based self-healing composites reinforced with nano-fillers from the last decade have been reported here. The present status followed by future scope in this area has also been discussed briefly at the end of this review.
