Abstract: The Ramirez-Falicov model for the $\ensuremath{\alpha}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ transition in Ce has been extended to describe Ce-rare-earth dilute alloys. Changes in the transition temperatures and pressures predicted by the model, are in good agreement with existing experiments. The most important effect of the impurities is to lower the transition temperature, the effect being more marked for divalent impurities. The assumption that in this way an ordering (N\'eel) temperature can be reached leads to the prediction of a phase diagram for these alloys similar to that found for Cr-doped ${\mathrm{V}}_{2}$${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$.

Este hallazgo es compatible con la formacion de eritropoyetina extra renal en esas glandulas salivares.

Abstract: A method is presented for the direct measurement of blood flow through an aorto-coronary vein bypass at operation and during the first postoperative days. It was used in a series of 18 patients. It proved to be a safe and reliable procedure, giving vital information of the bypass flow under various circumstances, and providing an opportunity to confirm that the most important areas of obstruction to blood flow in the large coronary vessels have been bypassed with the aid of the aorto-coronary vein graft.

Abstract: Chez le rat la prostaglandine E1 augmente la consommation d'oxygene et la teneur en potassium, tandis qu'elle abaisse la teneur en sodium dans le tissu renal et hepatique. On y a observe une correlation entre l'effet et la dose de PGE1 employee. Cependant dans les coupes du tissu hepathique, la PGE1 est restee sans action. A meme dose la PGF2α a produit des effets comparables a ceux qu'on obtient avec la PGE1. Ces resultats indiqueraient que la reponse natriuretique a la PGE1 ne semble pas due a une inhibition de la “pompe” de sodium des cellules tubulaires, mais a une elevation du flux sanguin renal.

Abstract: The purpose of the aorto-coronary bypass procedure is to increase the blood supply to the distal coronary vessels, which may be insufficient in the presence of a severe coronary artery stenosis. The blood flow can scarcely be measured before the reconstruction. After reconstruction, however, the measurement of the pressures distal and proximal to the stenosis and the flow through the vein bypass will allow a calculation of the flow that passed the stenosis before reconstruction. In case of renal and carotid artery stenosis this calculated flow can be compared with the flow obtained by direct measurement before reconstruction and ths validity of the formula for the above-mentioned calculation evaluated.
