Abstract: This paper deals with the celebration of the end of the harvest through the study of Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia, in the province of Mendoza. At the same time, this is a celebration and a spectacle generated from the public cultural policy of the provincial governments. The exploration of the cultural importance of the festivals, due to their location within the cultural public sphere, allow us to examinate them as areas from which an attempt has been made to construct the legitimacy of political power through a particular sense of identity. This phenomenon is seeable in some esthetics and in narratives of harvest.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used support vector machines and random forests to predict the outcome of molecular dynamics simulations regarding fragment formation, after a number of steps smaller than in usual MD simulations.
Abstract: Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations on grain collisions allow to incorporate complex properties of dust interactions. We performed simulations of collisions of porous grains, each with many particles, using the MD software LAMMPS. The simulations consisted of a projectile grain striking a larger immobile target grain, with different impact velocities. The disadvantage of this method is the large computational cost due to a large number of particles being modeled. Machine Learning (ML) has the power to manipulate large data and build predictive models which could reduce MD simulation times. Using ML algorithms (Support Vector Machine and Random Forest) we are able to predict the outcome of MD simulations regarding fragment formation, after a number of steps smaller than in usual MD simulations. We achieved a time reduction of at least 46%, for 90% accuracy. These results show that SVM and RF can be powerful yet simple tools to reduce computational cost in collision fragmentation simulations.

TL;DR: The development of drugs that inhibit the crosstalk between DNA methylation and histone modifications and their interaction would open a promising window for future cancer treatments.
Abstract: Regulation of gene expression is the result of a functional crosstalk between multiple epigenetic pathways. DNA methylation is an epigenetic mark that is typically related to gene silencing. Changes in DNA methylation are associated with specific histone modifications (other members in the crosstalk), including methylation and acetylation in N-terminal tails. Interestingly, these posttranslational histone modifications do not occur at random and are a consequence of the regulated crosstalk with DNA methylation. DNA methylation enzymes direct the histone modification process in a reversible way. Alterations in the crosstalk between DNA and histone modifications can lead to disease, for example, cancer. In the tumorigenic progression, it is proposed that cancer cells may modify their gene expression profile through the accumulation of genetic and epigenetic alterations. These changes affect the pathways that control the cell cycle. At the DNA level, tumors usually present global hypomethylation and tumor suppressor gene hypermethylation. At the histone level, the crosstalk is altered, and mistargeted histone deacetylase activity causes pathological gene silencing. Given the functionally linked crosstalk, the development of drugs that inhibit their interaction would open a promising window for future cancer treatments.

TL;DR: A critical reading of the theory of miscegenation as a source of harmony and sociocultural integration of Hispanic-America that threads a great amount of the author´s texts is presented in this article.
Abstract: From a perspective located at a considerable distance from an admission without any problematics of the cultural program of the Dominican humanist Pedro Henriquez Urena, we propose a critical reading of the theory of miscegenation as a source of harmony and sociocultural integration of Hispanic-America that threads a great amount of the author´s texts. Our working hypothesis tries to question the idea of Miscegenation, in which the autochthonous and Spanish elements interfere, and functions at the mercy of some strategic selections; for example, the clipping of an image of Spanish America at the expense of the Caribbean area and, consequently, of other existing ethnic reserves. On the other hand, we propose that the resource of the merger or miscegenation does not prove, at last, a sly way of eluding the conflict and cultural instability of the continent. Finally, we wish to consider the reasons for which he sticks fast and firmly to humanism as a suitable doctrine to set the course for an argumentation of harmony for these very different elements, without neglecting any positivists notes which might last in the allusions to race.
