TL;DR: The final experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm is a feasible and effective approach for the multi-objective flexible job shop scheduling problems.
Abstract: Flexible job shop scheduling is very important in both fields of production management and combinatorial optimization. Owing to the high computational complexity, it is quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution to this problem with traditional optimization approaches. Motivated by some empirical knowledge, we propose an efficient search method for the multi-objective flexible job shop scheduling problems in this paper. Through the work presented in this work, we hope to move a step closer to the ultimate vision of an automated system for generating optimal or near-optimal production schedules. The final experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm is a feasible and effective approach for the multi-objective flexible job shop scheduling problems.

TL;DR: This letter presents a secure beamforming (BF) scheme for RSMA-based cognitive satellite terrestrial networks in the presence of multiple eavesdroppers and proposes a robust BF scheme to convert the nonconvex objective and constraints into convex ones, which can be iteratively solved.
Abstract: Rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) has recently received considerable attention due to its high efficiency in both spectral utilization and energy consumption. Inspired by this emerging technique, this letter presents a secure beamforming (BF) scheme for RSMA-based cognitive satellite terrestrial networks in the presence of multiple eavesdroppers. Assuming that the system operates in the millimeter wave band and only imperfect wiretap channel state information is available at the satellite and terrestrial base station, our objective is to maximize the secrecy-energy efficiency of the earth station (ES) while meeting the constraints on the ES secrecy rate, the cellular users’ rate requirements, and transmit power budgets of the satellite and base station. As the formulated optimization problem is mathematically intractable, by applying successive convex approximation and Taylor expansion methods, we propose a robust BF scheme to convert the nonconvex objective and constraints into convex ones, which can be iteratively solved. The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed scheme are confirmed through simulation results.

TL;DR: In this paper, the propagation of longitudinal elastic waves in quasi-one-dimensional structure consisting of harmonic oscillators periodically jointed on a slender beam is studied, and the stiffness and mass ratios are found analytically as two factors that influence the actual attenuation in the band gap of the locally resonant phononic crystals.
Abstract: The propagation of longitudinal elastic waves in quasi one-dimensional structure consisting of harmonic oscillators periodically jointed on a slender beam is studied. Sub-frequency locally resonant band gap with highly asymmetric attenuation is observed in both theoretical and experimental results, and both results match well. The stiffness and mass ratios are found analytically as two factors that influence the actual attenuation in the band gap of the locally resonant phononic crystals. The study on the weights of the two factors shows that the stiffness ratio is the key one. Thus, the reason for the mismatch between the regions of the sharp attenuation and the theoretical band gap in the locally resonant phononic crystals is discovered.

TL;DR: The results indicate that polyimide aerogel is an ideal insulation material for aerospace and other applications.
Abstract: Polyimide aerogels for low density thermal insulation materials were produced by 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl ether and 3,3′,4,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride, cross-linked with 1,3,5-triaminophenoxybenzene. The densities of obtained polyimide aerogels are between 0.081 and 0.141 g cm–3, and the specific surface areas are between 288 and 322 m2 g–1. The thermal conductivities were measured by a Hot Disk thermal constant analyzer. The value of the measured thermal conductivity under carbon dioxide atmosphere is lower than that under nitrogen atmosphere. Under pressure of 5 Pa at −130 °C, the thermal conductivity is the lowest, which is 8.42 mW (m K)−1. The polyimide aerogels have lower conductivity [30.80 mW (m K)−1], compared to the value for other organic foams (polyurethane foam, phenolic foam, and polystyrene foam) with similar apparent densities under ambient pressure at 25 °C. The results indicate that polyimide aerogel is an ideal insulation material for aerospace and other applications.
