Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: A strict control of the synthetic processes is exerted by the bacteria, which apparently affects the initiation of a defined number of polysaccharide chains during cell division of another event related to it.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the infrared and laser Raman spectra of crystalline As 2 O 7 4− ion were analyzed using a simplified molecular model, and the principal force constants for the ion were derived.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a dimensionless correlation for ionic mass transfer at horizontal discelectrodes under longitudinal vibration has been obtained, showing that vibration is more efficient than conventional agitation in increasing the mass transfer rate.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the kinetics of the electrochemical reduction of a monolayer oxide film anodically formed on platinum in bisulphate melts are studied by means of single potential sweep voltammetry.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the CNDO and INDO methods were used for a theoretical conformational analysis of morpholine, and the agreement between the methods was very satisfactory, and some results were also compared with the available experimental data.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the anodic oxidation of NO − 2 ion dissolved as AgNO 2 in ACN, in the range − 12° to 68°C, was investigated using platinum electrodes.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In condiciones especiales se indujo la formación de tuberculos sin follaje a temperaturas of 20°C and 27°C as discussed by the authors.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the electrochemical reduction of a platinum oxide monolayer formed in NaHSO 4 −KHSO4 and KHSO 2 melts was investigated under equivalent ageing conditions from 185 to 315°C with application of the linear potential sweep technique.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: A semi-empirical LCAO-MO-SCAF theory has been applied to Cl3 and CIF2, the only 21 valence electron triatomic radicals known, and equilibrium geometries have been calculated.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that Schwinger and seagull terms are analytic functions of the number of dimensions of the space (v) and that the Feynman conjecture (cancellation of Schwinger terms with divergences of Seagulls) holds for arbitrary v.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the mean amplitudes of vibration of a series of XF6 compounds have been calculated using the "method of the characteristic vibrations" of A. Muller, and the results indicate that this method leads to very good values, also in the case of highly symmetric species.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The observed large E1 width of the isobaric analog state in 209Bi is found to be inconsistent with the β-decay of 210Bi as discussed by the authors, which is the first observation that the E 1 width is larger than the E 2 width.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the mean amplitudes of vibration for the octahedral IF6+ ion have been calculated from spectroscopic data using the method of the characteristic vibrations of A. Muller.
Abstract: Mean amplitudes of vibration for the octahedral IF6 + ion have been calculated from spectroscopic data using the “Method of the Characteristic Vibrations” ofA. Muller. The results are briefly discussed in relation with those of isoelectronic species and with known data for other compounds containing I-F bonds.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the thermal and electrochemical properties of graphite in the molten alkaline nitrate have been correlated and an electrochemical reaction involving O 2 − ion and NO has been shown to proceed via an oxide on the graphite electrode surface which can be electrochemically reduced.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the potentiodynamic behaviour of graphite and platinum electrodes was studied in alkaline nitrite melts, and no appreciable corrosion was observed, due to the apparently low concentration of highly oxidising species.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The relationship between collectivity and ground state correlations for the single closed shell lead isotopes is analyzed in this paper, under the framework of both the quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation (RPA) and Tamm-Dancoff approach.
Abstract: The relationship between collectivity and ground state correlations is analyzed for the single closed shell lead isotopes. The effects of the schematic approximation are discussed, within the framework of both the quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation and the quasiparticle Tamm-Dancoff approach. The consistency of the RPA is investigated.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of low Lewis number on the transient behavior of exothermic irreversible first-order catalytic reaction inside a spherical porous pellet is analyzed taking into account external heat and mass transport as well as initial conditions corresponding to a pellet at uniform temperature and devoid of reactant.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors suggest that the large difference in volume expansion for the solvated electron in ammonia and water is due to the different intermolecular interactions in both liquids.
