TL;DR: In this article, a review of the current technology development of sintered Ag as a bonding material from the perspective of patents filed by various stakeholders since late 1980s is presented.
Abstract: Sintered silver joint is a porous silver that bonds a semiconductor die to the substrate as part of the packaging process. Sintered Ag is one of the few possible bonding methods to fulfill the operating conditions of wide band-gap (WBG) power device technologies. We review the current technology development of sintered Ag as a bonding material from the perspective of patents filed by various stakeholders since late 1980s. This review addresses the formulation of sintered pastes (i.e., nano-Ag, hybrid Ag, and micron Ag fillers), innovations in the process and equipment to form this Ag joint. This review will provide the insights and confidence to engineers, scientists from universities and industry as well as investors who are developing and commercializing the sintered Ag as a bonding material for microelectronic packaging. TL;DR: Hypertension, musculoskeletal disease, diabetes and chronic respiratory disease were the major diseases observed and in general, most urban refugees in developing countries have adequate access to primary health care services.
Abstract: With the increasing trend in refugee urbanisation, growing numbers of refugees are diagnosed with chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). However, with few exceptions, the local and international communities prioritise communicable diseases. The aim of this study is to review the literature to determine the prevalence and distribution of chronic NCDs among urban refugees living in developing countries, to report refugee access to health care for NCDs and to compare the prevalence of NCDs among urban refugees with the prevalence in their home countries. Major search engines and refugee agency websites were systematically searched between June and July 2012 for articles and reports on NCD prevalence among urban refugees. Most studies were conducted in the Middle East and indicated a high prevalence of NCDs among urban refugees in this region, but in general, the prevalence varied by refugees’ region or country of origin. Hypertension, musculoskeletal disease, diabetes and chronic respiratory disease were the major diseases observed. In general, most urban refugees in developing countries have adequate access to primary health care services. Further investigations are needed to document the burden of NCDs among urban refugees and to identify their need for health care in developing countries.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a critical review on the control and optimization techniques for solving the problems and enhancing the performance of induction motor (IM) drives and provide some suggestions on the optimized control for the research and development of future IM drives.
Abstract: Induction motor (IM) drives, specifically the three-phase IMs, are a nonlinear system that are difficult to explain theoretically because of their sudden changes in load or speed conditions. Thus, an advanced controller is needed to enhance IM performance. Among numerous control techniques, fuzzy logic controller (FLC) has increasing popularity in designing complex IM control system due to their simplicity and adaptability. However, the performance of FLCs depends on rules and membership functions (MFs), which are determined by a trial-and-error procedure. The main objective of this paper is to present a critical review on the control and optimization techniques for solving the problems and enhancing the performance of IM drives. A detailed study on the control of variable speed drive, such as scalar and vector, is investigated. The scalar control functions of speed and V/f control are explained in an open- and closed-loop IM drive. The operation, advantages, and limitations of the direct and indirect field-oriented controls of vector control are also demonstrated in controlling the IM drive. A comprehensive review of the different types of optimization techniques for IM drive applications is highlighted. The rigorous review indicates that existing optimization algorithms in conventional controller and FLC can be used for IM drive. However, some problems still exist in achieving the best MF and suitable parameters for IM drive control. The objective of this review also highlights several factors, challenges, and problems of the conventional controller and FLC of the IM drive. Accordingly, the review provides some suggestions on the optimized control for the research and development of future IM drives. All the highlighted insights and recommendations of this review will hopefully lead to increasing efforts toward the development of advanced IM drive controllers for future applications.
