TL;DR: In this paper, a differentially heated square enclosure with an inner rotating cylinder is studied theoretically, where the free space between the cylinder and the enclosure walls is filled with water-Ag, water-Cu, water water-Al2O3 or water-TiO2 nanofluids.

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral properties of a nanostructured hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM)-based absorber are investigated and the effect of altering the slant angle and thickness of gold nanostrips in the HMM structure is reported.
Abstract: The spectral characteristics of nanostructured hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM)-based absorber is investigated. The HMM structure is comprised of periodically arranged assembly of gold nanostrips. The results indicate nearly perfect absorption by the structure in the entire ultraviolet (UV) regime of the electromagnetic spectrum under certain configuration – the feature which would be useful for UV-shield related applications. The absorptivity of the structure can be tailored by altering the slant angle and thickness of gold nanostrips (in the HMM structure). The effect of altering the incidence angle of light is also reported.

TL;DR: Nipah viruses from pigs from a Malaysian 1998 outbreak were isolated and sequenced and at least two different Nipah virus strains were identified, including a previously unreported strain.
Abstract: Nipah viruses from pigs from a Malaysian 1998 outbreak were isolated and sequenced. At least two different Nipah virus strains, including a previously unreported strain, were identified. The findings highlight the possibility that the Malaysia outbreaks had two origins of Nipah virus infections.

TL;DR: A new coumarin derivative, PMBH, was synthesized and its chemical structure was elucidated and confirmed using spectroscopic techniques to indicate that it has promising inhibitive effects on the corrosion of mild steel in 1.0 M HCl.
Abstract: A new coumarin derivative, N,N′-((2E,2′E)-2,2′-(1,4-phenylenebis (methanylylidene))bis(hydrazinecarbonothioyl))bis(2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxamide) PMBH, was synthesized and its chemical structure was elucidated and confirmed using spectroscopic techniques (Infrared spectroscopy IR, Proton nuclear magnetic resonance, 1H-NMR and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance 13C-NMR). The corrosion inhibition effect of PMBH on mild steel in 1.0 M HCl was investigated using corrosion potential (ECORR), potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and electrochemical frequency modulation (EFM) measurements. The obtained results indicated that PMBH has promising inhibitive effects on the corrosion of mild steel in 1.0 M HCl across all of the conditions examined. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to investigate the morphology of the mild steel before and after immersion in 1.0 M HCl solution containing 0.5 mM of PMBH. Surface analysis revealed improvement of corrosion resistance in presence of PMBH.
