TL;DR: In this article, the results of a full-text, document search by a character string search processor are treated as vector patterns whose elements become a term match grade by use of a membership function of the term match frequency.
Abstract: The results of a full-text, document search by a character string search processor are treated as vector patterns whose elements become a term match grade by use of a membership function of the term match frequency. The closest pattern to the query pattern is found by the similarity between the query pattern and each of the filed sample patterns. The similarity is calculated by use of fuzzy-logic. The similarity is ranked in order of similarity magnitude, thereby reducing the search time. The search time can be shortened by categorizing the filed patterns by term set and similarity to a cluster center pattern. If the cluster center patterns are stored, the closest cluster address can be inferred by fuzzy logic inference from the match between the query document and the term set or the similarity of the query to the cluster center.

TL;DR: In this paper, the location of a mobile terminal is estimated as an intersection of the respective circles defined by radiuses of the calculated distances from the base stations receiving the location signal.
Abstract: In location detection of a mobile terminal, a location inquiry signal is transmitted from one or more base stations to the mobile terminal at predetermined intervals. In response to the location inquiry signal, the mobile terminal transmits a location signal including its identification information such as a telephone number. The location signal is received by at least three base stations neighboring to the mobile terminal. The respective distances from that base stations to the mobile terminal are calculated based on the respective field strength values of the location signal received by the base stations, and the location of the mobile terminal is detected based on the calculated distances. More specifically, the location is calculated as an intersection of the respective circles defined by radiuses of the calculated distances from the base stations receiving the location signal.

TL;DR: In this article, a plurality of estimated process time expansion ratios are calculated for the computers, in accordance with the estimated loads and the number of processors in the computers. And then, the transaction is distributed in according with the load indexes.
Abstract: In a method for distributing a transaction in a computer system including a plurality of computers each formed by processors, a plurality of estimated loads are calculated for the computers. Then, a plurality of estimated process time expansion ratios are calculated for the computers, in accordance with the estimated loads and the numbers of processors in the computers. Then, a plurality of load indexes one for each of the computers are calculated in accordance with the estimated process time expansion ratios. Finally, the transaction is distributed in accordance with the load indexes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature of plating solution in the plating cups is controlled at optimum levels by controlling the operations of heaters, based on the temperature measured by thermometers mounted on the plates.
Abstract: Plating cups 2 each hold therein respective semiconductor substrates to be plated. The temperatures of the plating solution in the plating cups are controlled at optimum levels by controlling the operations of heaters 13 and 16, based on the temperature of the plating cups as measured by thermometers 5 mounted on the plating cups 2. Metal ion concentration in the solution and the pH level and specific gravity of the solution are measured by an atomic absorption spectrometer 17, a pH gauge 18, and a gravimeter 19, respectively, for determining necessary amount of replenishing metal ions and solution from a solution level regulator 21, thereby maintaining the relevant parameters of the solution within a permissible range.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system consisting of a management section, a plurality of terminal sections and a coaxial cable is described, where a user of a terminal section selects a desired service from the video games and the video movies.
Abstract: A system comprise a management section, a plurality of terminal sections and a coaxial cable. The management section is provided with a predetermined number of video game units and video recorders. The management section further comprises a memory for storing a plurality of video game programs. Each of the video game units executes a video game program to generate a first audio and video signal varying in response to a control signal received from a terminal section. Each of the video recorders storing a plurality of video movies generates a second audio and video signal associated with a video movie. A user of a terminal section selects a desired service from the video games and the video movies. When a video game is selected, the video game program is downloaded into the available game unit provided in the management section. The game unit runs the game program in response to the control signal received from the terminal section where the user is operating a keypad. The video images and sound varying in response to the control signal is transmitted from the management section to the terminal section through the coaxial cable.
