TL;DR: In this paper, a card type recording medium containing a data area where data containing ID information of a holder are recorded and an image area where image data are recorded, in the image area are recorded second image data which are generated by transforming first image data specifying the holder to frequency area data, adding the transformed frequency-area data with the ID information and inversely transforming the added data to image signals.

TL;DR: In this article, a light source unit consisting of a plurality of pumping light source modules and a control unit is proposed to supply a drive current flowing serially through the plurality of light emitting elements.
Abstract: Even when some light emitting elements among the plurality of light emitting elements fail, a repeater, can be continuously operated. Means for solving the problems A light source unit 50 which includes a plurality of pumping light source modules 51 ( 51 a to 51 d ) which include light emitting elements 52 ( 52 a to 52 d ) for emitting an excitation light and monitor elements 53 ( 53 a to 53 d ) for monitoring the excitation lights of the light emitting elements 52 ( 52 a to 52 d ), respectively, a distribution unit 40 which combines the excitation lights from the plurality of pumping light source modules 51 ( 51 a to 51 d ) and distributes it, and a control unit 60 which supplies a drive current flowing serially through the plurality of light emitting elements 52 ( 52 a to 52 d ) in a plurality of excitation modules 51 ( 51 a to 51 d ) are included.

TL;DR: In this article, an eight-channel wavelength-selectable microarray distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LD's) with a monolithically integrated 8/spl times/1 multimode-interference (MMI) optical combiner, a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), and an electroabsorption (EA) modulator were developed.
Abstract: We developed compact (1.136 mm/sup 2/) eight-channel wavelength-selectable microarray distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LD's) with a monolithically integrated 8/spl times/1 multimode-interference (MMI) optical combiner, a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), and an electro-absorption (EA) modulator. By using /spl plusmn/10/spl deg/C thermal tuning, an addressable wavelength range of 15.3 nm with uniform device characteristics and 2.5-Gb/s modulation performance were successfully demonstrated.

TL;DR: It was demonstrated that superconductivity appears in a certain appropriate range of carrier concentration.
Abstract: ${T}_{c}$ variations observed in some Tl-based superconductors were investigated. Clear correlations were found between ${T}_{c}$, carrier concentration, and c-axis length. In particular, for ${\mathrm{Tl}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{2}$${\mathrm{CuO}}_{6}$, a decrease in oxygen content of about 0.1 per formula unit, which corresponded to a decrease in hole concentration of 0.2, increased ${T}_{c}$ up to about 80 K, and elongated the c axis by about 0.4%. The carrier concentration in that system could be decreased by substitution of La for Ba, which resulted in an increased ${T}_{c}$ value. ${T}_{c}$ variations caused by a change in oxygen content were also observed in ${\mathrm{Tl}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{2}$${\mathrm{CaCu}}_{2}$${\mathrm{O}}_{8}$ and ${\mathrm{Tl}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ca}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Cu}}_{3}$${\mathrm{O}}_{10}$. It was demonstrated that superconductivity appears in a certain appropriate range of carrier concentration.
