06 Oct 2016TL;DR: In this paper, an expected reward distribution is obtained comprising an estimate of the distribution over time of reward received in response to the offer, which is then used in the next selection of an offer.
Abstract: Methods and systems for selecting an offer from a set of offers to be served to one or more respondents. In some embodiments, for each of the offers, an expected reward distribution is obtained comprising an estimate of the distribution over time of reward received in response to the offer. Requests are received for the selection of an offer and in response to each request an offer is selected with the selection depending at least partially on the expected reward distribution. The expected reward distributions are updated in repeated update operations after the initial serving of each offer, the updating being based on an observed distribution of reward received in response to the servings of the offer. The updated expected reward distribution is then used in the next selection of an offer. Update operations may take place before a complete set of response data is received.

18 May 2015TL;DR: In this paper, a method comprising that in response to a beginning of a telephonic interaction in a local telephony system concurrently activating recordations of the telephony interaction in the plurality of recorders operative parallelly and independently to obtain a plurality of recordings of the interaction corresponding to the plurality's recorders, and further, when the interaction is ended, concurrently terminating the recordations.
Abstract: A method comprising that in response to a beginning of a telephonic interaction in a local telephony system concurrently activating recordations of the telephonic interaction in a plurality of recorders operative parallelly and independently to obtain a plurality of recordings of the interaction corresponding to the plurality of recorders, and further in response to an ending of the telephonic interaction in the local telephony system concurrently terminating the recordations of the telephonic interaction in the plurality of the recorders, thereby providing the plurality of recordings of the interaction corresponding to the plurality of recorders, and subsequently selecting at least one recording among the plurality of the recordings of the interaction based on acquired data related to the quality of recordings associated the recordations, and an apparatus for performing the same.

26 Nov 2012TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a system and method for engaging a mobile device by capturing an event related to an application by code embedded in the application and sending information related to the event to a server.
Abstract: A system and method for engaging a mobile device. An event related to an application may be captured on a mobile device by code embedded in the application. Information related to the event may be sent to a server. A server may compute a next best action to take. A communication channel may be selected based on the event and based on a set of rules. A session may be established according to the selected communication channel.

25 Nov 2013TL;DR: In this article, I-frames of the encoded video stream may be relatively compressed and decompressed, thereby reducing the video data size of an already encoded video streaming stream, and compression and decompression may typically require relatively low processing power and small memory sizes.
Abstract: System and method for compressing and decompressing of differentially encoded video streams. I-frames of the encoded video stream may be relatively compressed and decompressed, thereby reducing video data size of an already encoded video stream. Compression and decompression may be lossless processes and may typically require relatively low processing power and small memory sizes.

02 Aug 2007TL;DR: In this paper, a method for reliably communicating unreliable protocol packets by encapsulating one or more unreliable protocol packet in a packet constructed according to a predefined format was proposed. But this method requires the receiver of packets to acknowledge reception by responding with a packet containing information pertaining to received packets.
Abstract: A method for reliably communicating unreliable protocol packets by encapsulating one or more unreliable protocol packets in a packet constructed according to a predefined format. The method further employs an acknowledgement mechanism whereby a receiver of packets acknowledges reception by responding with a packet containing information pertaining to received packets. A sender retransmits packets for which no acknowledgement was received within a predefined period of time.
