TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus for the measurement of a variable parameter at different points distributed across the width of a web of material travelling lengthwise relative to the apparatus is disclosed for measurement of variable parameters.
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for the measurement of a variable parameter at different points distributed across the width of a web of material travelling lengthwise relative to the apparatus. The apparatus includes a first set of ''''light tubes'''' fixed in relation to said apparatus and extending from a light source transversely of the web of material with their output ends spaced across the width of the web of material. A second set of ''''light tubes'''' also is fixed in relation to said apparatus and extends from light sensitive means transversely of the web material with their input ends spaced across the width of the web of material. The input ends are respectively associated with corresponding light output ends of the light tubes of the first set.

TL;DR: In this article, a U-shaped cross-section of a metal support rail is used for an electric current supply conduit with contacts for connection with the ends of the current conductors.
Abstract: A coupling element for an electric current supply conduit comprising a metal support rail of substantially U-shaped crosssection forming an open longitudinal channel. The opposite side walls of the support rail is provided with longitudinally extending current conductors terminating a short distance inside the ends of the support rail. The coupling element comprises a body which can be removably inserted into said open channel from the end of the support rail and provided with contacts for connection with the ends of the current conductors. The body is provided with projections or similar which abut against the ends of the current conductors and prevent the coupling element from being inserted into the support rail if said ends of the current conductors extend to the end surface of the supply rail.

TL;DR: A digital demodulator for phase-shift-keyed (PSK) signals in which the phase difference between the received signal and a carrier reference is found by measuring digitally the time interval between the zero crossings of the signal and the reference.
Abstract: This paper describes a digital demodulator for phase-shift-keyed (PSK) signals in which the phase difference between the received signal and a carrier reference is found by measuring digitally the time interval between the zero crossings of the signal and the reference. In the case of coherent detection the reference is locked to one of the M possible phases of the signal. The advantage of this demodulator is that bulky low-pass filters and delay lines as well as critical threshold devices can be dispensed with. On the other hand, digital measurement of the phase and the use of a finite-width sampling window lead to degradation of the error performance. This degradation is theoretically analyzed for both coherent and phase-comparison detection. The quantizing error proves to be small enough when the phase difference is coded into a 6-b binary number, and the theoretical results are in good agreement with measurements taken from an experimental phase-comparison demodulator for fourand eight-level PSK signals. The experimental demodulator is also described in the paper.

TL;DR: In this paper, a horizontal deflection circuit for a television receiver including a deflection unit, means for controlling sweep and commutation, and the energy applied to the horizontal final stage.
Abstract: A horizontal deflection circuit for a television receiver including a deflection unit, means for controlling sweep, means for controlling commutation and means for controlling the energy applied to the horizontal final stage. Said energy controlling means includes a series connected thyristor the on time of which is variable as a function of a controlled variable developed across the deflection circuit.

Abstract: An electric current supply conduit comprising a metal support rail of substantially U-shaped cross-section forming an open longitudinal channel. The support rail is provided with longitudinally extending current conductors fastened at the opposite side walls of the support rail. The ends of the current conductors are bent to project angularly, preferably perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal direction of the support rail inwardly into said open channel of the support rail.

TL;DR: In this paper, a hinge for coupled window constructions comprising hinge blades and a pivot pin connecting said blades by means of cylindrical bearing burhings formed in said blades is described.
Abstract: A hinge for coupled window constructions comprising hinge blades and a pivot pin connecting said blades by means of cylindrical bearing burhings formed in said blades. The pivot pin is of an oval cross-section permitting a mutual displacement of said bearing blades in the direction of the smaller axis of the ovat section but preventing a mutual displacement in the direction of the longer axis of the oval section.

TL;DR: In this paper, a contact rail unit comprising an elongated body and conductors arranged longitudinally within the body is described, where the conductors are provided with mutually spaced lateral branches, each opening being displaced in the longitudinal direction of the body with respect to the corresponding branch.
Abstract: A contact rail unit comprising an elongated body and conductors arranged longitudinally within the body. The conductors are provided with mutually spaced lateral branches and the body is provided with openings for each branch, each opening being displaced in the longitudinal direction of the body with respect to the corresponding branch. The contact fingers of a current collecting devize may be inserted through said openings and brought in contact with said branches by a sliding movement in the longitudinal direction of the body.
