07 Oct 1977TL;DR: In this article, a method of manufacturing a plastic covered highvoltage cable by passing an electrical conductor through two successive separate extrusion heads is described, where the auxiliary insulation layer prevents the formation of plastics burr on the surface of the conductor shield layer from during the first extrusion.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plastic covered highvoltage cable by passing an electrical conductor through two successive separate extrusion heads. In the first extrusion head a conductor shield layer is extruded around said conductor as well as a thin auxiliary insulation layer around the conductor shield layer. In the second extrusion head a main insulation layer is extruded around the auxiliary insulation layer as well as, if preferable, a corona shield layer around the main insulation layer. The auxiliary insulation layer is of the same or electrically equivalent material as the main insulation layer. The auxiliary insulation layer prevents the formation of plastics burr on the surface of the conductor shield layer from during the first extrusion.

03 Jan 1977TL;DR: In this paper, a cable is passed longitudinally through a curing tube in which the cable is first subjected to heating in a heating zone for heating the cable to curing temperature and subsequently subjected to cooling.
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous curing (vulcanization) of elongated products, such as cables comprising a conductor surrounded by a mantle of a crosslinkable material. The cable is passed longitudinally through a curing tube in which the cable is first subjected to heating in a heating zone for heating the cable to curing temperature and subsequently subjected to cooling. The heating of the cable in the heating zone is carried out by means of heat radiation in a pressurized gas atmosphere and the cooling of the cable in the cooling zone is carried out in the presence of a gas under pressure so that heat is transferred from the heated cable in the cooling zone partially by radiation to the cooled wall of the tube and partly by convection to said cooled gas.

29 Mar 1977TL;DR: In this paper, an angle piece for a contact rail of U-shaped section and provided with longitudinal conductors is pushed into the groove of two contact rails forming an angle between them, thereby establishing contact between the conductors of the two rails via contact fingers provided on an installation component of the angle piece supported by a body portion.
Abstract: An angle piece for a contact rail of U-shaped section and provided with longitudinal conductors. The L-shaped angle piece can be pushed into the groove of two contact rails forming an angle between them, thereby establishing contact between the conductors of the two rails via contact fingers provided on an installation component of the angle piece supported by a body portion. The installation component can be shifted in relation to the body portion diagonally so as to adjust the relative position of the contact fingers to flanks of the body portion.

24 Nov 1977TL;DR: An unvulcanised, rubber-like intermediate sheathing and filler compsn. as discussed by the authors contains a non-polar polymer (mixt.) (I) which under the working conditions is amorphous and has a Tg the working temp.
Abstract: An unvulcanised, rubber-like intermediate sheathing and filler compsn. contg. an abundant amt. of mineral filler for PVC insulated cables contains as binder a (practically) non-polar polymer (mixt.) (I) which under the working conditions is amorphous and has a Tg the working temp. (I) comprises >=70 wt. % hydrocarbon polymer of which at least the main chain is satd. The plasticiser which bleed from the PVC are absorbed by the compsn. but do not separate out again. The cable has good resistance to large and quick changing temp. variations and is flame retardant.

06 Dec 1977TL;DR: Suspension elements for the electrodes in a multibeam electron gun, especially for a color television picture tube, having a novel construction are provided which cause their associated electrodes to either rotate about their axes or to remain in position to compensate for convergence drift during the warm up phase of the tube's operation.
