TL;DR: In this paper, an out-of-band connection from a mobile device to the plurality of devices to send in-band short-range communication connection parameters including a timer value related to an expected completion time of a connection handover.
Abstract: Example method, apparatus, and computer program product embodiments are disclosed to enable out-of-band communications to be used in out-of-band initialization methods for simplified configuring of an in-band wireless docking environment for wireless devices. An example embodiment of the invention includes composing a wireless configuration for a plurality of devices in an in-band short-range wireless docking environment, by using out-of-band connections from a mobile device to the plurality of devices to send in-band short-range communication connection parameters including a timer value related to an expected completion time of a connection handover to in-band short-range communication.

TL;DR: In this article, the identity of a short message service centre is deleted from the list contained in the home location register to ensure that the short message is delivered successfully, when a time preset in the time supervision expires.
Abstract: A method and a home location register for starting a short message transmission in a mobile telephone network. To ensure that a short message is delivered successfully, a time supervision is started upon including an identity of a short message service centre in a subscriber-specific list. When a time preset in the time supervision expires, a short message transmission starting message is transmitted to each one of the short message service centres the identity of which is included in the list. The identity of the short message service centre is deleted from the list contained in the home location register. Each short message service centre transmits, in response to a short message transmission starting message, the short message to a gateway mobile exchange for the short message to be forwarded to the subscriber.

TL;DR: In this paper, a bridge device (140) is coupled to a public network using an Internet-based peer-to-peer (I2P) networking protocol, and metadata (232) related to media accessible from a media server (212) of the local network (204) is determined via the bridge device.
Abstract: Bridging between ad hoc local networks (102) and Internet based peer-to-peer networks (104) involves coupling a bridge device (140) to a local network using an ad- hoc, peer-to-peer protocol used for exchanging data between consumer electronics devices. The bridge device (140) is coupled to a public network using an Internet-based peer-to-peer networking protocol. In one arrangement, metadata (232) related to media accessible from a media server (212) of the local network (204) is determined via the bridge device (210), and the metadata (232) is transformed via the bridge device (210) to enable peer-to-peer devices of the public network (206) to discover the media via the bridge device (210) using the Internet-based peer-to-peer networking protocol. In another arrangement, metadata (326) related to media accessible from the public network (304) is determined via the peer-to-peer networking protocol, and the metadata (326) is transformed via the bridge device (300) to enable a device of the local network (302) to discover the media via the bridge (300) device using the ad-hoc, peer-to-peer protocol.

TL;DR: This paper proposes two novel methods, which are based on a joint matrix factorization and a graph regularization framework respectively, to efficiently combine the spectrum of the multiple graph layers, namely the eigenvectors of the graph Laplacian matrices.
Abstract: Observational data usually comes with a multimodal nature, which means that it can be naturally represented by a multi-layer graph whose layers share the same set of vertices (objects) with different edges (pairwise relationships). In this paper, we address the problem of combining different layers of the multi-layer graph for an improved clustering of the vertices compared to using layers independently. We propose two novel methods, which are based on a joint matrix factorization and a graph regularization framework respectively, to efficiently combine the spectrum of the multiple graph layers, namely the eigenvectors of the graph Laplacian matrices. In each case, the resulting combination, which we call a “joint spectrum” of multiple layers, is used for clustering the vertices. We evaluate our approaches by experiments with several real world social network datasets. Results demonstrate the superior or competitive performance of the proposed methods compared to state-of-the-art techniques and common baseline methods, such as co-regularization and summation of information from individual graphs.

TL;DR: A portable communications device comprising: a housing 4, a display for entering and displaying data, said display being disposed in said housing and having a touch sensitive screen 6; radio circuitry 12 for receiving and processing communication channel data; and a processor 14 for controlling operation of the device as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A portable communications device comprising: a housing 4, a display for entering and displaying data, said display being disposed in said housing and having a touch sensitive screen 6; radio circuitry 12 for receiving and processing communication channel data; and a processor 14 for controlling operation of the device. When a voice communication channel is established, the processor 14 is operable to disable at least a portion of the touch sensitive screen 6.
