TL;DR: In this paper, the connection establishment is controlled by a third network element (10), which is responsible for controlling the change of access point, and generates the required signalling and in a way 'tunnels' this signalling to the old access point (BTS1), which transmits the signalling forward without interpreting it.
Abstract: The invention relates to connection-oriented packet-based communications network, such as ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), in which the terminal (MS) and the network access point of the terminal may move in the network When the access point of the terminal (MS) changes during an active connection, the routing of the connection must also be changed or extended from an old access point (BTS1) to a new one (BTS2) The old access point (BTS1) may comprise buffered cells, which should be transferred to the new access point without packet loss A necessary connection (13) from the old access point to the new one is established dynamically, when it is required Instead of being controlled by the old access point, the connection establishment is controlled by a third network element (10), which is responsible for controlling the change of access point anyway The third network element (10) generates the required signalling and in a way 'tunnels' this signalling to the old access point (BTS1), which transmits the signalling forward without interpreting it So the old access point can be arranged to send signalling messages and to establish a connection without requiring any additional intelligence at the access point Upon the connection being established, the old access point sends the buffered unsent packets to the new access point (BTS2)

TL;DR: In this article, a method for tuning a Thin Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonator (FBAR) located on a wafer is presented. But the method requires the thickness of at least one layer to be altered in order to minimize a difference between the measured frequency and a reference frequency.
Abstract: A method for tuning a Thin Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonator (FBAR) located on a wafer. The FBAR comprises a plurality of layers having respective thicknesses. The FBAR exhibits at least one of a series resonance and a parallel resonance at respective frequencies that are a function of the thickness of at least one of the layers. A first step of the method includes measuring a frequency at which the FBAR exhibits one of a series resonance and a parallel resonance. A next step includes calculating an amount (A) by which the thickness of the at least one layer needs to be altered in order to minimize a difference between the measured frequency and a reference frequency. A further step includes altering the thickness of the at least one layer by the amount (A).

TL;DR: In this paper, a location updating method and a mobile communication system is proposed, in which a sub-location register is arranged to forward the first location updating of a mobile station arriving into said sub-area to the visitor location register (VLR) to the service area of which the mobile station belongs.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a location updating method and a mobile communication system. The system comprises visitor location registers (VLR1, VLR2), each of which maintains the subscriber and location data of mobile subscribers visiting its service area, and (VLR1, VLR2). In addition, there are sub-location registers (subVLR) for a particular sub-area of the service area of a visitor location register. A sub-location register is arranged to forward the first location updating of a mobile station arriving into said sub-area to the visitor location register (VLR) to the service area of which said sub-area belongs, in order to update the location data of the visitor location register and to copy the necessary subscriber data from the visitor location register to the sub-location register. The sub-location register is also arranged to independently handle the subsequent location updatings of the mobile station in said sub-area in such a manner that the location of the mobile station is updated only in the sub-location register.

TL;DR: In this paper, a telecommunication device consisting of a speaker (32) and a microphone (33) was used as a telephone in order to use the telecommunication devices as an image generating device.
Abstract: The telecommunication device comprises a speaker (32) and a microphone (33) in order to use the telecommunication device as a telephone. Further it comprises a camera (91, 1101) having a certain photographing direction, and a display (38, 1102) having a certain displaying direction, in order to use the telecommunication device as an image generating means. The photographing direction is substantially different from the displaying direction.

TL;DR: In this article, a mobile device is provided with user selectable activity levels of the secure chip to reduce security risks/concerns associated with such a terminal, which can be used for contactless transactions with external short range wireless RF communication devices, for example at a point of sales.
Abstract: A mobile device provided with a secure chip and a short-range wireless RF communication module, which can be used for contactless transactions with external short-range wireless RF communication devices, for example at a point of sales. The mobile device is provided with user selectable activity levels of the secure chip to reduce security risks/concerns associated with such a terminal. The user selectable activity levels may include levels in which the secure chip is deactivated by default, and only temporarily activated upon user confirmation or the entry of a password or PIN.
