TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a virtual channel for bidirectional transmission of packet data in a cellular system, where a packet data service unit (Agent) is disposed in a digital cellular system connected to be in association with a Mobile Switching Center, and connecting the cellular network to the date network.
Abstract: For bidirectional transmission of packet data, a packet data service unit (Agent) is disposed in a digital cellular system connected to be in association with a Mobile Switching Center, and connecting the cellular network to the date network. As a mobile station is connected to the packet data service unit, signalling related to connection formation characteristics of the network is first accomplished. As a result thereof, the mobile station and the data service unit are provided with a number of stored parameters relating to each other. This situation creates or is called a virtual channel. When a mobile station wants to transmit or receive data packets between the mobile station and the data service unit a packet data transfer channel is established making use of the parameters of the virtual channel and thereby using substantially less signalling than the channel establishment signalling characteristic of the network, one part thereof being a radio channel and the other part a time slot in a digital trunk line. On termination of data packet transfer, at least said radio channel is disassembled but the virtual channel is maintained until the disconnection of the mobile station from the data service.

TL;DR: In this article, a radio telephone capable of being operated in more than one radio telephone system, comprising communication means respectively associated with each of the more than 1 radio telephone systems, monitoring means for monitoring signals of the radio telephone signals, and selection means responsive to said monitoring means to automatically select and re-selecting respective communication means in accordance with the signals of one of the radiosystems fulfilling at least one predetermined criterion, such as received signal strength, access rights, system requests, least BER or frame error rate and user velocity.
Abstract: A radio telephone capable of being operated in more than one radio telephone system, comprising communication means respectively associated with each of the more than one radio telephone system, monitoring means for monitoring signals of the more than one radio telephone system, and selection means responsive to said monitoring means for automatically selecting and re-selecting respective said communication means in accordance with the signals of one of the more than one radio telephone system fulfilling at least one predetermined criterion. The predetermined criterion can be based on a number of features such as received signal strength, access rights, system requests, least BER or frame error rate and user velocity. The radio telephone can be used in a radio telephone system adapted to co-operate with at least one other radio telephone system, comprising user information exchange means respectively associated with each of the at least one other radio telephone system for exchanging user information signals between the radio telephone system and the at least one other radio telephone system, monitoring means for monitoring user information signals of the radio telephone systems and selection means for automatically assigning and re-assigning a user to one of the radio telephone systems in accordance with the user control signals fulfilling at least one predetermined criterion.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a SoftRouter architecture that includes two physically separate networks, a control plane network and a data plane network, for data plane and control plane.
Abstract: An embodiment of the exemplary SoftRouter architecture includes two physically separate networks, a control plane network and a data plane network. The data plane network is one physical network for the data traffic, while the control plane network is another physical network for the control traffic. The topology of the data plane network is made up of interconnected forwarding elements (FEs). The topology of the control plane network is made up interconnected control elements (CEs). This physical independence of the control plane network from the data plane network provides for a secure mechanism to communicate among the CEs in the control plane network. In addition, this physical independence provides improved reliability and improved scalability, when compared to the traditional router architecture, where control plane message are in-band with the data plane.

TL;DR: The authors combine supervised learning with unsupervised learning in deep neural networks, which achieves state-of-the-art performance in semi-supervised MNIST and CIFAR-10 classification.
Abstract: We combine supervised learning with unsupervised learning in deep neural networks. The proposed model is trained to simultaneously minimize the sum of supervised and unsupervised cost functions by backpropagation, avoiding the need for layer-wise pre-training. Our work builds on the Ladder network proposed by Valpola (2015), which we extend by combining the model with supervision. We show that the resulting model reaches state-of-the-art performance in semi-supervised MNIST and CIFAR-10 classification, in addition to permutation-invariant MNIST classification with all labels.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an automatic content updating (ACU) client that downloads a user profile for the VPN, requests certificate enrollment, and updates the VPN client and other applications when new content is available.
Abstract: A mobile or other device connects to a server via a publicly accessible network such as the Internet. After installation upon the device, a virtual private network (VPN) client connects to the server and downloads a VPN profile. In one embodiment the device creates public/private key pairs and requests enrollment of a digital certificate. In another embodiment a digital certificate and public/private key pairs are provided. The device also receives a digital certificate from the server and verifies the server certificate by requesting the user to supply a portion of a fingerprint for the certificate. The invention further includes an automatic content updating (ACU) client that downloads a user profile for the VPN, requests certificate enrollment, and updates the VPN client and other applications when new content is available. A security service manager (SSM) server includes, or is in communication with, a Web server, multiple databases, an enrollment gateway and an internal certification authority (CA). A VPN policy manager application creates and manages VPN profiles and/or policies and communicates with the SSM server. The SSM server, which may reside on an enterprise intranet, may further communicate with one or more external CAs.
