TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of N,N′-bidentate chelating ligand (L) and the corresponding metal precursors [(arene)Ru(μ-Cl)Cl]2 {arene-=p-cymene, benzene, hexamethylbenzene (HMB), [Cp∗M(μ)-Cl] 2 ] and [Re(CO)5Br] (7] were fully characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV-Vis and mass spectroscopic and analytical

TL;DR: In this article, the metal-metal interaction between the two nickel(II) ions is explained via phenoxide bridge via coordination of bipyridine and phenanthroline molecules which do not allow phenoxide bridging.
Abstract: The mononuclear nickel(II) complex [Ni(H2slox)(H2O)3] (1) and polymeric dinuclear complexes [Ni2(slox)(A4)] {A = H2O (2), py (3), 2-pic (4), 3-pic (5) and 4-pic (6)} and the discrete binuclear complexes [Ni2(slox)(NN)3] {NN = bpy (7) and phen (8)} have been synthesized from disalicylaldehyde oxaloyldihydrazone (H4slox) in methanol. All of the complexes are nonelectrolytes. Complexes 1, 7, and 8 are paramagnetic while binuclear 2–6 possess anomalously low μ eff value, indicating considerable metal–metal interaction. Discrete binuclear 7 and 8 have no interaction between the two nickel(II) ions. The anomalously low magnetic moment values in 2–6 are explained as metal–metal interaction via phenoxide bridge. Such metal–metal interactions are less in 7 and 8 due to coordination of bipyridine and phenanthroline molecules which do not allow phenoxide bridging. The dihydrazone coordinates to the metal center as a dibasic tridentate ligand in keto-enol form in staggered configuration in 1, while in the remaining c...

TL;DR: A three-component finite mixture negative binomial model was found to provide a reasonable fit to the heterogeneous LOS distribution and associated risk factors for short-stay, medium-stay and long-stay subgroups were identified.
Abstract: Length of stay (LOS) in hospital for inpatient treatment is a measure of crucial recovery time. Using nationwide data on inpatient healthcare in India, a three-component finite mixture negative binomial model was found to provide a reasonable fit to the heterogeneous LOS distribution. Associated risk factors for short-stay, medium-stay and long-stay subgroups were identified from the respective negative binomial components. In addition, significant heterogeneities within each group were also found.

TL;DR: It is noted that the glutathione levels in blood and abnormalities in erythrocytes and other hematological parameters are inversely related in cisplatin-mediated cancer chemotherapy.
Abstract: The involvement of glutathione, a major cellular antioxidant, in cisplatin-mediated development of various hematological changes in mice bearing ascites Dalton lymphoma tumor was investigated With tumor growth, glutathione levels decreased in blood but increased in tumor cells Cisplatin treatment of tumor-bearing mice caused a decrease in glutathione levels in blood, ascites supernatant, and tumor cells Blood hemoglobin, erythrocytes, packed cell volume and leukocytes (eosinophils, basophils, and lymphocytes) were also decreased along with the development of various morphological abnormalities in erythrocytes (microcytes, macrocytes, echinocytes, acanthocytes, etc) after cisplatin treatment All these hematotoxic features were noted to be increased more when buthionine sulfoximine (a specific glutathione-depleting agent) was also given prior to cisplatin treatment However, combination treatment of cysteine (precursor for glutathione synthesis) plus cisplatin resulted in an improvement in the glutathione levels and decrease in hematological toxicities It is noted that the glutathione levels in blood and abnormalities in erythrocytes and other hematological parameters are inversely related in cisplatin-mediated cancer chemotherapy It is suggested that blood glutathione may play an important role in the development of cisplatin-mediated hematological toxicity in the host

TL;DR: The data suggest that Synechocystis sll1545 does not belong to any known GST class and represent a novel GST class, which is named rho, which the results suggest is evolutionally very distinct from the known GSTs.
