Abstract: A process and device for the mechanical formation of aerosols are disclosed, whereby the formation of a downwardly flowing liquid film is effected on the slanted surface of a downwardly widening mouthpiece of an air supply line, which mouthpiece points downwards and the breakup of the film at an annular edge of the mouthpiece by an airstream which escapes under slight excess pressure from the interior of the at least approximately cone-shaped hollow space inside the mouthpiece, whereby the film is atomized in the form of an essentially vertically downwardly directed spray cone. A limiting body may be inserted in the mouthpiece to direct the airstream essentially entirely toward the interrupting edge of the mouthpiece.

These carboxylic acid amides are suitable for stabilizing organic materials sensitive to oxidations.

The invention provides a valuable method for homogeneously distributing optical brightening agents in combination with white pigments in plastics.

Abstract: A photochemical reactor has an upstanding hollow cylindrical section closed at its upper end by a hemispherical dome the interior surface of which forms a continuation of the interior surface of the cylindrical section. One or more nozzles sprays a reaction liquid onto the dome to form a film thereon which moves down the interior wall of the cylindrical section. A light source is coaxially disposed in the cylindrical section and spaced from it to effect the photochemical reaction of the film. The cylindrical section may be rotated and/or longitudinally corrugated to provide a longer effective film path. The light source has a tubular lamp in a translucent or transparent envelope and means are provided for washing the outer surface of the envelope to remove contamination.
