27 Sep 2001TL;DR: In this article, the status information of an electronic device group is displayed on a display unit of a terminal based on the received status information, and a screen for prompting input of a control instruction of the home-located electronic devices that are included in the group.
Abstract: A security system 63 and an electronic device group 62 to be stored in a home network 6 are controlled by a home server 61 . A home network management facility 5 obtains status information of the electronic device group 62 from home server 61 . Home network management facility 5 displays the status of electronic device group 62 on a display unit of a terminal 1 based on the received status information. Home network management facility 5 also displays a screen for prompting input of a control instruction of the home-located electronic devices that are included in the electronic device group 62 . Based on control instruction received via home server 61 , home network management facility 5 performs remote control of electronic device group 62.

10 Dec 2002TL;DR: A multi-hop radio access cellular (MRAC) scheme for achieving both high speed and high capacity and good area coverage in fourth generation mobile communications systems and reduces the interference in cellular systems and enhances the area coverage.
Abstract: This paper proposes a multi-hop radio access cellular (MRAC) scheme for achieving both high speed and high capacity and good area coverage in fourth generation mobile communications systems. In this scheme, we assume two kinds of hop stations, one is a dedicated repeater station installed at a good propagation location such as a rooftop, and the other is a user terminal that temporarily experiences good propagation conditions. For both cases, the path diversity effect can be obtained between single-hop and multi-hop paths. Four propagation models were studied representing the paths among the base station, hop stations, and mobile station. Based on the propagation models, suitable MRAC operation conditions are discussed. For mobile stations located at the cell edge area, MRAC operation is effective in reducing the transmit power. Consequently, MRAC reduces the interference in cellular systems and enhances the area coverage.

TL;DR: Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive bias configuration strategy for RE can improve the cell edge performance compared with the static bias setting strategies, while maintaining the overall cell performance.
Abstract: The coexistence of macro eNodeBs and the additional low power nodes (LPNs) may lead to much higher interference in LTE-Advanced Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) In Macro Pico scenario, Range Extension (RE) is a promising scheme to utilize the LPN resources more effectively and improve the cell edge performance However, it may introduce more interference if the bias value is not properly set In this paper, an adaptive bias configuration strategy for RE is proposed In this strategy, the bias value is set adaptively according to the environment variability, which contains three stages including bias initialization, system performance feedback and dynamic bias value setting The proposed scheme aims to make the RE scheme adaptive and improve the cell edge users' performance through cell load balance Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the cell edge performance compared with the static bias setting strategies, while maintaining the overall cell performance

01 Oct 2015TL;DR: The goal is to clarify the benefits of NOMA over orthogonal multiple access (OMA) such as OFDMA adopted by Long-Term Evolution (LTE), also its combination with MIMO is discussed.
Abstract: As a promising downlink multiple access scheme for LTE enhancements and 5G, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been attracting a lot of attention in recent years. This paper introduces an overview of the concept, performance evaluation gains, our ongoing experimental trials and current standardization status. The goal is to clarify the benefits of NOMA over orthogonal multiple access (OMA) such as OFDMA adopted by Long-Term Evolution (LTE), also its combination with MIMO is discussed. Using computer simulations, NOMA performance gains are assessed from both link-level and system-level perspectives. Also, our NOMA testbed and the measurement results are explained. Finally, we summarize the current status of ongoing standardization of downlink NOMA, which is currently under study in 3GPP LTE Release 13.
