TL;DR: The overlapping speech detection systems developped by Orange and LIMSI for the ETAPE evaluation campaign on French broadcast news and debates are described and it is shown that it improves the diarization error rate in all situations and up to 26.1% relative in the best configuration.
Abstract: The overlapping speech detection systems developped by Orange and LIMSI for the ETAPE evaluation campaign on French broadcast news and debates are described. Using either cepstral features or a multi-pitch analysis, a F1-measure for overlapping speech detection up to 59.2% is reported on the TV data of the ETAPE evaluation set, where 6.7% of the speech was measured as overlapping, ranging from 1.2% in the news to 10.4% in the debates. Overlapping speech segments were excluded during the speaker diarization stage, and these segments were further labelled with the two nearest speaker labels, taking into account the temporal distance. We describe the effects of this strategy for various overlapping speech systems and we show that it improves the diarization error rate in all situations and up to 26.1% relative in our best configuration.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fully integrated lightwave single sideband (SSB) source optimized for millimeter-wave (20-40 GHz) transport over fiber with no chromatic dispersion penalty is presented.
Abstract: We report on a fully integrated lightwave single side-band (SSB) source optimized for millimeter-wave (20-40 GHz) transport over fiber with no chromatic dispersion penalty. The operation principle is first developed. A practical design is proposed and tolerances of multimode interference (MMI) couplers and electroabsorption (EA) modulators subcomponents are theoretically and experimentally examined. The phase tolerances of MMI couplers are in particular given for the first time for such a scheme. These results imply the achievement of fully integrated rugged SSB source without resorting to complex technology steps.

TL;DR: In this article, a process and device for segmentation into and reconstruction from sub-bands of a digital signal each sample of which are submitted to a parallel processing on a plurality of paths by prototype filtering modulated by a periodic function and sub-sampling by the number of subbands.
Abstract: A process and device for segmentation into and reconstruction from sub-bands of a digital signal each sample of which are submitted to a parallel processing on a plurality of paths by prototype filtering modulated by a periodic function and sub-sampling by the number of sub-bands. A combination of a filtering of modified polyphase type and of a processing by frequency transform is therefor performed so as to deliver a sub-band signal for each path of corresponding rank. Reconstruction comprises in combination the dual steps of frequency transform and modified polyphase filtering so as to deliver a reconstructed digital signal. Corresponding modules for frequency transform and modifyed polyphase filtering are embodied through MOT or PRMF filters.

TL;DR: Three solutions to decrease the overall number of manipulated bits during the computation of the answer by a factor two or three and one entity can be public key authenticated by doing one on-line addition only at the time of authentication!
Abstract: We focus on the GPS identification scheme implementation in low cost chips, ie not equipped with a microprocessor (such as those embedded in some prepaid telephone cards or RFID tags) We present three solutions to decrease the overall number of manipulated bits during the computation of the answer by a factor two or three All the solutions stand in the use of low Hamming weight parameters The first one consists in building the private key as the product of low Hamming weight sub-keys The second one suggests the choice of full size low Hamming weight private keys Finally, the third solution corresponds to a variant of the basic GPS scheme in which large challenges with low Hamming weight are used Whereas the first solution does not withdraw the need for a multiplier in the chip, the two other ones are ideally suited to low cost chips as they can be implemented with only one serial addition Therefore, as a surprising result, one entity can be public key authenticated by doing one on-line addition only at the time of authentication!

TL;DR: In this article, the results on direction of arrival of waves and wall reflection coefficients have been obtained using a narrow beam antenna and rotating positioning system at the receiver, and additional results on multi-path propagation derived from wideband measurements were presented.
Abstract: Narrowband and wideband measurements around 60.5 GHz were carried out firstly in an empty room and secondly in the same room with furniture. Using a narrow beam antenna and rotating positioning system at the receiver, results on direction of arrival of waves and wall reflection coefficients have been obtained. Additional results on multi-path propagation derived from wideband measurements have been presented. Eventually, comparisons between different polarisation schemes are presented.
