Abstract: A solid state color imaging apparatus with a color encoding filter and a solid state area imaging device for producing a color signal representing an optical image of an object. The color filter is formed from a plurality of pairs of color filter strips arranged one above the other in a vertical scanning direction, each of which color filter strips consists of alternating transmissivity filter elements of two different colors. The color filter is placed on the imaging device so that each photosensitive element of the imaging device is covered with a corresponding filter element. During the self-scanning of the area imaging device, first and second signals which represent color difference signals are derived therefrom alternately in the successive scan lines, from which the color signal is produced.

TL;DR: In this paper, a phase mask comprised of a rectangular array of phase shifting areas arranged in a pseudo-random pattern is illuminated with a beam of electromagnetic radiation, and the array of pseudorandomly phase shifted beams is focused on a Fourier transform plane on which the power spectrum of the beams distributes in two orthogonal directions from its center maxima.
Abstract: A phase mask comprised of a rectangular array of phase shifting areas arranged in a pseudo-random pattern is illuminated with a beam of electromagnetic radiation. The array of pseudo-randomly phase shifted beams is focused on a Fourier transform plane on which the power spectrum of the beams distributes in two orthogonal directions from its center maxima. The phase shifting areas are arranged in such a manner that there is an approximately equal number of phase shifts for each of the different phase shifting areas with a constant phase relation between orthogonally adjacent phase shifting areas. The center maxima of the spectrum is confined to a rectangular-shaped area and uniformly distributed by suitably selecting the number of different phase shifts. Coherent noise on the reconstructed image is effectively eliminated.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pan or utensil load to be heated by magnetic induction and a source of high frequency magnetic flux is sensed by detecting a current which is indicative of the electromagnetic coupling by means of a current transformer.
Abstract: Electromagnetic coupling between a pan or utensil load to be heated by magnetic induction and a source of high frequency magnetic flux is sensed by detecting a current which is indicative of the electromagnetic coupling by means of a current transformer. The detected current is compared with a reference level. Intermittent generation of the magnetic flux is commenced when, for example, a small magnetic metal object is inadvertently placed as a load with the result that the detected current becomes lower than the reference level. This allows intermittent check for the presence and absence of the inadvertently placed load for subsequent cooking operations and minimization of the heat generated therein.

TL;DR: High quality holograms of flat objects are produced by developing an achromatic-fringe system that consists of a monochromatic but spatially incoherent source, a holographic beam splitting device, and a pair of Fourier transform lenses.
Abstract: High quality holograms of flat objects are produced by developing an achromatic-fringe system that consists of a monochromatic but spatially incoherent source, a holographic beam splitting device, and a pair of Fourier transform lenses. The effects of using an incoherent extended source and the transfer characteristics of the holograms are discussed. Emphasis is also placed on the advantages of developing lens Fourier transform holography along with the practical lens systems. A further possible extension of the system to attain high storage density as well as high quality holograms is proposed by making use of a new type of pseudorandom phase sequence.
