TL;DR: In this article, an inexpensive simply-operated biosensors of the disposable type can be provided, where an insulative base, an electrode system formed on the substrate and primarily made of carbon, and a perforated body having an enzyme and an electron acceptor and integrally combined with the electrode system whereby a concentration of a specific component in a biological liquid sample can be electrochemically measured rapidly and accurately by a simple procedure of mere addition of the liquid sample.
Abstract: This invention relates to a biosensor which comprises an insulative base, an electrode system formed on the substrate and primarily made of carbon, and a perforated body having an enzyme and an electron acceptor and integrally combined with the electrode system whereby a concentration of a specific component in a biological liquid sample can be electrochemically measured rapidly and accurately by a simple procedure of mere addition of the liquid sample. Several simple biosensors for measuring a specific component in a liquid sample are known including a sensor of the type in which a change of a dye formed by an enzyme reaction is optically detected and a sensor of the type using an enzyme electrode. These sensors, respectively, involve an interference with colored matters in liquid sample and necessity of washing of an electrode system every measuring procedure. In addition, the sensors are complicated in structure and materials therefor are expensive. In the present invention, the electrode system is formed mainly of carbon and is integrally combined with the perforated body, so that washing of the electrode system is unnecessary. Thus, an inexpensive, simply-operated biosensor of the disposable type can be provided.

TL;DR: In this article, a defective sector is replaced by a sector at another position by detecting the first signal at the time of recording or reproduction, the sector involved is known to be defective, and at the same time, the data therein is transferred to another (replacement) sector, or a sector is detected where the data is recorded.
Abstract: An information recording and reproduction apparatus for recording and reproduction of information in a recording medium having an information recording area divided into a plurality of sectors, in which a defective sector is replaced for recording and a signal for identifying the defective sector is recorded. Each sector includes a preformatted sector identification section ID and a data field for recording data therein. A defective sector is replaced by a sector at another position. When the sector identification section ID and/or data field DF has a defect, a first signal is recorded in addition to the data in the data field DF, followed by writing a second signal overlapped in the sector identification section ID of the same sector which causes an address data read error thereby to attach a defect mark to the defective sector. By detecting the first signal at the time of recording or reproduction, the sector involved is known to be defective, and at the same time, the data therein is transferred to another (replacement) sector, or a sector is detected where the data is recorded. A defective sector never fails to be identified by the second signal overwritten in the sector identification section ID. A defective sector is thus detected in real time at the time of data recording or reproduction, and therefore the defective sector replacing operation is performed in a minimal access time. Further, the storage capacity has no loss since a defective sector is identified by a signal recorded in the data field section DF.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed to prevent crosstalks by the light absorption generated between the recording layers of the optical recording medium used for a wavelength multiplex optical recording system by parting the wavelength widths between the absorption max. wavelength and the corresponding dyestuffs of the respective optical recording layers.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent crosstalks by the light absorption generated between the optical recording layers of the optical recording medium used for a wavelength multiplex optical recording system by parting the wavelength widths between the absorption max. wavelengths of the optical recording layers by more than the half-amplitude level of the light absorption of the respective optical recording layers. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording layers subjected to recording in a heat mode have the energy threshold and the values thereof vary with the absorption wavelengths. The values are maximized at the absorption max. wavelength. The absorption does no longer change at all at the wavelength apart by more than the half-amplitude level of the absorption from the absorption max. wavelength by the photoirradiation of the energy value necessary for executing the sufficient recording at the absorption max. wavelength. The absorption max. wavelengths of the dyestuffs of the respective optical recording layers are, therefore, so selected as to be part by more than the half-amplitude levels thereof from the absorption max. wavelengths of the respective other optical recording layers, by which the crosstalks by the light absorption between the recording layers are prevented and the degree of wavelength multiplexing is increased.

Abstract: An over-door interphone system for telephonic communication between a master station unit inside of a house and a remote station unit outside of an entrance door of the house is provided with a night-vision monitoring device. The night-vision monitoring device has a television camera comprising a solid-state camera sensitive to an infrared light. The solid-state camera is responsible for successfully incorporating the television camera within a less bulky housing of the remote station unit as well as for monitoring the image of a visitor by the camera without being noticed. Also, there can be utilized an illumination device producing an infrared which is hardly perceived by the visitor, ensuring monitoring of the visitor at night without a giving unfavorable impression thereto. The illumination device may be driven to operate for a predetermined period of time starting from the actuation of a calling switch, or a communication interval from the actuation of the calling switch to the hangup of a handset on the master station unit. The illumination device may be also driven in response to the actuation of an illumination operating switch or to a low illuminance level of the object. Thus, the illumination device can be operated with a minimum power requirement. The illumination device is controlled to operate in synchronous with the video signal from the television camera, providing an effective monitoring illumination free from flicker.

TL;DR: In this article, a data recording/regenerating device which records data onto, or regenerates data from, a disc-shaped data recording medium having a plurality of sectors was proposed.
Abstract: A data recording/regenerating device which records data onto, or regenerates data from, a disc-shaped data recording medium having a plurality of sectors. The invention employs a data recording medium which has, in the same track, both ordinary sectors (Sl, ..., Sn) in which addresses are format-recorded in address portions (12) of sector discrimination codes (9), and a substitute sector R1 in which no address is recorded. When a defective sector S3 is detected, a delete signal (109) is recorded on the address portion (12) of the defective sector S3, so that the address of the defective sector S3 cannot be regenerated. At the same time, the address of the defective sector is recorded onto the address portion (13) of an unemployed substitute sector R1 on the same track, and then the data to be recorded onto the defective sector S3 is recorded onto the substitute sector R1. Owing to such a sector substitute operation, the substitute sector having the same address and data as those of the defective sector is formed on the same track as that of the defective sector. Therefore, there is provided a data recording/regenerating device which makes possible the access to the substitute sector when the data is to be regenerated, without requiring any retrieval operation.

Abstract: An information recording and reproducing apparatus records and reproduces information on and from an optical recording disk having a sector recording format of frame structure in which data in each sector are divided into a plurality of frames, and a data head identification mark is affixed to the head of each of the frames, so as to prevent propagation of a demodulation error due to failure of word synchronization attributable to pull-out of a PLL during data reproduction. In the apparatus, one frame pulse is generated for each of the frames on the basis of a sector identifier detection signal and a frame data demodulation start signal, and, according to the result of counting the frame pulses, the frame numbers of frame data demodulated and stored in a sector buffer memory are accurately detected. The frame pulse is generated on the basis of the sector identifier detection signal until the data head identification signal is first detected, and, once the data head identification signal is detected, the frame pulse is generated on the basis of the data demodulation start signal. Therefore, even if the data head identification signal of a frame cannot be detected resulting in dropout of data in that frame, the succeeding frame data can be stored at the assigned addresses in the sector buffer memory.
