Abstract: A 32*32-bit multiplier using multiple-valued current-mode circuits has been fabricated in 2- mu m CMOS technology. For the multiplier based on the radix-4 signed-digit number system, 32*32-bit two's complement multiplication can be performed with only three-stage signed-digit full adders using a binary-tree addition scheme. The chip contains about 23600 transistors and the effective multiplier size is about 3.2*5.2 mm/sup 2/, which is half that of the corresponding binary CMOS multiplier. The multiply time is less than 59 ns. The performance is considered comparable to that of the fastest binary multiplier reported. >

Abstract: An antenna and its electronic circuit combination is presented to comprise a ground conductor plane 30, a radiating conductor plane 40 disposed in parallel spaced relation to the ground plane 30 and shorted at its one end to the ground plane 30. A ground plane 30 is preferably formed on a printed board 10 which is disposed in parallel relation to the radiating plane 40 to define therebetween an open air space. Mounted on the printed board 10 and received within the open air space are electronic components which form a receiving or transmitting electronic circuit 60 associated with the antenna structure and electrically coupled by means of a feed element 20 to a feed point 44 on the radiating plane 40. Consequently, a number of electronic components forming the electronic circuit for the antenna can well be incorporated within the antenna structure by better utilization of the open air space formed between the radiating and ground planes, giving a space saving compact arrangement to the antenna and its electronic combination suitable for installation in a limited space.

Abstract: A base material excellent in heat resistance and high-temperature strength is processed into a desired configuration. The processed base material is coated with a heat-resistant film having excellent strength at high temperatures and low reactivity with a glass material to be molded. A resist is applied on the heat resistant film and a desired pattern is drawn thereon by means of electron beam, ion beam, hologram exposure, or ordinary photolithography. Or if a mold having deep unevenness of the pressing surface is required, the resist is applied after an intermediate layer which permits selective etching is formed on the heat resistant film, and the required pattern is drawn thereon by means of electron beam, ion beam, hologram exposure, or ordinary photolithography. The intermediate layer is removed by wet etching or dry etching to emphasize unevenness of the mask. The resist film or the resist film and intermediate layer film are completely removed and a part of the heat-resistant film is removed to obtain a mold having the desired configuration of the molding surface.

TL;DR: In this article, current and voltage detectors are provided for respectively detecting the current corresponding to the mechanical vibration of the piezoelectric member and the voltage impressed on the member, and this phase difference is used to drive a variable frequency oscillator so as to maintain the phase difference constant.
Abstract: A driving apparatus for an ultrasonic motor which generates a driving force by using a piezoelectric member, wherein an oscillation frequency fd is varied so as to follow a driving frequency fm which is particular to a mechanical resonance frequency fro when the mechanical resonance frequency fro varies by influence of environment. For this purpose, current and voltage detectors are provided for respectively detecting the current corresponding to the mechanical vibration of the piezoelectric member and the voltage impressed on the piezoelectric member. The phase difference between the detected current and voltage is detected, and this phase difference is used to drive a variable frequency oscillator so as to maintain the phase difference constant. The output of the variable frequency oscillator is then used to drive the driving circuit for the piezoelectric member of the ultrasonic motor.

Abstract: The code error detecting method uses the code error detecting apparatus which comprises a sector buffer memory for storing various kinds of data, an adder circuit for performing exclusive OR addition of data, a CRC generator/checker for producing error check parities by dividing a result of addition performed in the adder circuit by a predetermined generator polynomial, a temporary memory for storing the error check parities, and an error correction circuit for calculating error correction parities which are used to correct an error of the data. At the time of recording, the data incorporating various parities produced in the code error detecting apparatus is recorded on an optical disk, and, at the time of reproducing, the data reproduced and stored in the sector buffer memory is corrected by using the reproduced error correction parities, and the error check parities are obtained by using the CRC generator/checker. Then, the error check parities thus obtained are compared with the reproduced error check parities stored in the sector buffer memory to thereby detect a code error of the data.

Abstract: This invention relates to an integrated high voltage generating system provided with a charge pump for raising the input power supply voltage sequentially while transferring the electric charges of the capacitors on a stage by stage basis, by serially connecting unit circuits composed of diode elements and capacitors, and supplying clock signals of mutually opposite phases to adjacent capacitors. Source and drain electrodes of a MOS transistor are connected between the first power supply output terminal and a second power supply output terminal, and the gate electrode of this MOS transistor is connected to the input end of any one of the unit circuits of the charge pump, wherein the voltage of the first power supply output terminal is stepped down depending on the voltage applied to the gate electrode of the MOS transistor, and is delivered to the second power supply output terminal. In this way, since the voltage is not stepped down using a dividing circuit, a potential between input power supply voltage and the first input power supply voltage can be obtained from the second power supply output terminal, without consuming unnecessary current and without causing the chip area to be increased.

TL;DR: Peak energies of the double peaks indicate that the double peak of both bound-exciton lines was yielded from two kinds of excitons related to a light hole and a heavy hole of the valence bands.
Abstract: N-doped and Ga-doped ZnSe layers grown by molecular-beam epitaxy on GaAs substrates exhibited double peaks for both the neutral-acceptor-bound\char21{}exciton line (${I}_{1}$) and the neutral-donor-bound\char21{}exciton line (${I}_{2}$) in low-temperature photoluminescence measurements. The split energy of the double peaks corresponds to an activation energy derived from the Arrhenius plot of intensity ratio of the double peak. Peak energies of the double peaks are calculated from energy shifts of valence bands split by biaxial strain, produced by lattice mismatch and differences in thermal contraction between ZnSe and GaAs. These indicate that the double peak of both bound-exciton lines was yielded from two kinds of excitons related to a light hole and a heavy hole of the valence bands. Thus it should be pointed out that the ${I}_{x}$ line generally reported in n-type ZnSe heteroepitaxial layers corresponds to a light-hole branch of usual ${I}_{2}$ line.
