TL;DR: In this paper, a thermal conductive component built-in module consisting of a core layer formed of an electric insulating material and a plurality of wiring patterns is presented. But the core layer has a different configuration from the outer layer.
Abstract: A component built-in module including a core layer formed of an electric insulating material, and an electric insulating layer and a plurality of wiring patterns, which are formed on at least one surface of the core layer. The electric insulating material of the core layer is formed of a mixture including at least an inorganic filler and a thermosetting resin. At least one or more of active components and/or passive components are contained in an internal portion of the core layer. The core layer has a plurality of wiring patterns and a plurality of inner vias formed of a conductive resin. The electric insulating material formed of the mixture including at least an inorganic filler and a thermosetting resin of the core layer has a modulus of elasticity at room temperature in the range from 0.6 GPa to 10 GPa. Thus, it is possible to provide a thermal conductive component built-in module capable of filling the inorganic filler with high density; burying the active component such as a semiconductor etc. and the passive component such as a chip resistor, a chip capacitor, etc. in the internal portion of the substrate; and simply producing a multilayer wiring structure.

TL;DR: A generalized proportional fair (GPF) scheduling algorithm is presented, which allows tweaking the trade-off between fairness and throughput performance for best effort traffic in a cellular downlink scenario.
Abstract: In this paper, a generalized proportional fair (GPF) scheduling algorithm is presented, which allows tweaking the trade-off between fairness and throughput performance for best effort traffic in a cellular downlink scenario. The GPF is extended to frequency scheduling in an OFDMA system by performing dynamic channel allocation on a subband basis including link adaptation by adaptive modulation and coding. In this way, multiuser diversity can be utilized in time domain - as for CDMA - and in frequency domain. Compared to a system without frequency scheduling, this increases the system throughput and yields an improved fairness with respect to the allocated resources and with respect to the achieved data-rate per user. OFDMA system level simulations are carried out in order to analyze short/long-term fairness, multiuser diversity gain and system throughput of various GPF configurations with and without applying frequency scheduling.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for scheduling in a mobile communication system where data of priority flows is transmitted by mobile terminals via dedicated uplink channels to a base station.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for scheduling in a mobile communication system where data of priority flows is transmitted by mobile terminals via dedicated uplink channels to a base station. Each mobile terminal transmits at least data of one priority flow via one of the dedicated uplink channels. Moreover, the invention relates to a base station for scheduling priority flows transmitted by mobile terminals via dedicated uplink channels to the base station. Further, a mobile terminal transmitting at least data of one priority flow via a dedicated uplink channel to a base station is provided. In order to optimize base station controlled-scheduling functions in a mobile communication system the invention proposes to provide the scheduling base station with QoS requirements of individual priority flows transmitted via an uplink dedicated channel and to adapt the mobile terminals to indicate the priority flows of which data is to be transmitted to the base stations for scheduling.

TL;DR: In this article, a probabilistic, non-Gaussian, robust image reconstruction method was proposed to enhance the image quality of images or video captured using a low-resolution image capture device.
Abstract: A result higher resolution (HR) image of a scene given multiple, observed lower resolution (LR) images of the scene is computed using a Bayesian estimation image reconstruction methodology. The methodology yields the result HR image based on a Likelihood probability function that implements a model for the formation of LR images in the presence of noise. This noise is modeled by a probabilistic, non-Gaussian, robust function. The image reconstruction methodology may be used to enhance the image quality of images or video captured using a low resolution image capture device. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the meta-information managing unit that is to be executed in the secure execution unit stores the meta information of the application in an area that can not be accessed by a debugger.
Abstract: The conventional application protection technique complicates an application to make it difficult to analyze the application. However, with such a complication method, the complicate program can be analyzed sooner or later by taking a lot of time no matter how the degree of the complication is high. Also, it is impossible to protect the application from unauthorized copying. The meta-information managing unit that is to be executed in the secure execution unit stores the meta-information of the application in an area that can not be accessed by a debugger. When the meta-information is required by the normal execution unit to execute the application, a result of predetermined calculation using the meta-information is notified to the normal execution unit. In this way, the meta-information of the application can be kept secret.

TL;DR: In this article, the amplitude modulation is applied after amplitude varying circuitry used to produce the modified constant-envelope carrier signal, which is unaffected by possible nonlinearities of such circuitry.
Abstract: The present invention, generally speaking, provides methods and apparatus for producing an amplitude modulated communications signal, in which a constant-envelope carrier signal is modified in response to a power control signal to produce a modified constant-envelope carrier signal. The modified constant-envelope carrier signal is amplified in response to an amplitude modulation signal to produce a communications signal having amplitude modulation and having an average output power proportional to a signal level of the modified constant-envelope carrier signal. This manner of operation allows wide dynamic range of average output power to be achieved. Because amplitude modulation is applied after amplitude varying circuitry used to produce the modified constant-envelope carrier signal, the amplitude modulation is unaffected by possible non-linearities of such circuitry. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, operation in the foregoing manner at comparatively low average output power levels is combined with switch mode operation at comparatively high average output power levels, enabling high overall efficiency to be achieved. Hence, the disclosed modulator and amplifier combination, in addition to supporting very low power signals, also supports high power signals.

Abstract: An LED device (5) serving as a light-emitting device is mounted on a substrate (7). An LED light guide plate (9, 9) serving as a light-emitting device light guide component is disposed in a position corresponding to the LED device (5) of the substrate (7). The LED light guide plate (9) has projections (27) on the substrate side serving as held portions. The projections (27) have a cross section shape diminishing toward the substrate (7). The projections (27) are fitted into holding holes (37, 39) of a pressing plate (11) serving as a holding member. The shapes of the holding holes (37, 39) vary depending on the disposition of the direction of the light guide of the LED light guide plate (9). Thus, even if the LED light guide plate (9) has the same shape, the installation height can be varied depending on the place. Consequently, the light-emitting device has a decreased number of types of components.

Abstract: To realize a plasma doping method which can control a dosage precisely to improve an in-plane homogeneity of the dosage. The plasma doping method is based on such a discovery, while noting the result, that the dosage of boron is substantially constant for a time period, if a silicon substrate is irradiated with a B2H6/He plasma and is biased, and that the saturation time period is longer and stabler than that, for which the repetitions of an apparatus control can be retained. When the plasma irradiation is started, the dosage increases at first, but then continues to be substantially constant independently of the time change. The dosage then decreases if the time is elongated. If this time period, for which the dosage is substantially constant independently of the time change, is employed as a process window, the dosage can be precisely controlled.

Abstract: A single-sign-on to access multiple networks residing at multiple domains is disclosed. In particular the single-sign-on features refers to the authentication and the authorization process carried out among the different network administration domains so that the terminal using the end service need not explicitly initiate the authentication process each time it accesses a new service. This invention's single-sign-on feature can be extended for usage in a federated domain environment and non-federated domain environment. The non-federated domains are able to form an indirect federation chain through other domains in order to utilize this invention. Therefore discovery of intermediate domains to form a federation chain is also covered. The management of user credentials to allow a Visited Domain to perform authetication is also covered in this invention.
