08 Feb 2006TL;DR: In this article, a zoom lens system consisting of negative power, positive power, and a third lens group of positive power is presented, where the first lens group has a concave face on the image side and the second lens element has a convex face on an object side.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens system that is extremely thin when stored, has a wide field angle at the wide angle end and a zooming ratio of approximately three times, and to provide an imaging apparatus and a camera. SOLUTION: The zoom lens system includes a first lens group of negative power, a second lens group of positive power, and a third lens group of positive power. The first lens group has a first lens element of negative power which has a concave face on the image side and a second lens element of positive power which has a convex face on the object side. The second lens group comprises a first cemented lens element composed of two lens elements of powers of different signs, and a second cemented lens element composed of two lens elements of powers of different signs. For zooming, the first to third lens groups move along an optical axis. The zoom lens system satisfies the following conditions: 5.0 w 11 -1)×(n 12 -1)≥0.84 (wherein 3.2 T /f w , ω w >35, αi w represents an angle at which the principal light ray of the maximum height image at the wide angle end enters the imaging element, n 11 and n 11 each represent the refractive index of the second lens element, ω w represents a half field angle at the wide angle end, f T represents the focal distance of the entire system at the telephoto end, and f w represents the focal distance of the entire system at the wide angle end). The imaging apparatus and camera are also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

08 Aug 2011TL;DR: In this article, a processor-controlled display provides visual notifications of notifications and tasks according to a dynamically prioritized queue which takes into account environmental conditions and driving context and available driver attention.
Abstract: The vehicular notification and control apparatus receives user input via a multimodal control system, optionally including touch-responsive control and non-contact gestural and speech control. A processor-controlled display provides visual notifications of notifications and tasks according to a dynamically prioritized queue which takes into account environmental conditions and driving context and available driver attention. The display is filtered to present only valid notifications and tasks for the current available driver attention level. Driver attention is determined using multiple, diverse sensors integrated through a sensor fusion mechanism.

05 Apr 2002TL;DR: In this paper, a driving aiding system includes a displaying section arranged at a position that can be looked at from a driver's seat of a vehicle, an image picking-up section for picking up an image of a rear portion of the vehicle containing at least a part of a hitch that is provided to the rear portion, and an image processing section for causing the displaying section to display a synthesized image that is obtained by image-processing an image picked up by the image picking up section.
Abstract: A driving aiding system includes a displaying section arranged at a position that can be looked at from a driver's seat of a vehicle, an image picking-up section for picking up an image of a rear portion of the vehicle containing at least a part of a hitch that is provided to the rear portion of the vehicle, and an image processing section for causing the displaying section to display a synthesized image that is obtained by image-processing an image picked up by the image picking-up section. A hitch image of own vehicle in addition to an image of a trailed vehicle and an image of a destination coupler are displayed on a screen of the displaying section. As a result, the relative positional relationship between the hitch and the destination coupler can be checked on the screen and thus the hitch coupling operation can be facilitated.

09 Aug 2002TL;DR: In this paper, a monitor screen is split into a plurality of sub-screen areas and each split image is displayed in the corresponding sub-screens areas, which allows intuitive understanding of the direction of an image displayed in a sub-space.
Abstract: In correspondence with each face of a rectangular parallelepiped obtained when the inside of the rectangular parallelepiped is shot, a monitor screen is split into a plurality of sub-screen areas. An image shot by a vehicle-mounted camera is processed and the processed image is split correspondingly to the sub-screen areas. Each split image is displayed in the corresponding sub-screen areas. This allows intuitive understanding of the direction of an image displayed in a sub-screen thereby providing the driver with an image free from a sense of incongruity.

14 Feb 1992TL;DR: In this article, a method of manufacturing a chemically adsorbed monomolecular or polymer film by a dehydrochlorination reaction brought about by contacting a substrate having hydrophilic groups at the surface with a non-aqueous organic solvent containing a compound having a halogen-based functional group able to react with a hyphilic group at one end is disclosed.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a chemically adsorbed monomolecular or polymer film by a dehydrochlorination reaction brought about by contacting a substrate having hydrophilic groups at the surface with a non-aqueous organic solvent containing a compound having a halogen-based functional group able to react with a hydrophilic group at one end is disclosed. A basic compound is present in the non-aqueous organic solvent. Molecules having a functional group able to react with a hydrophilic group at one end are dissolved in the solvent obtained by adding the basic compound to the non-aqueous organic solvent. The substrate is contacted with the solution to form a chemically adsorbed monomolecular or polymer film. The film is formed efficiently and in a short period of time.
