TL;DR: In this paper, an ultrasonic probe consisting of a catheter having a hollow tubing structure, a joint having a tubing structure and arranged to be at its one end portion connected to a tip portion of said catheter, a bearing connected to the other end portion of the joint, a rotating shaft inserted into the bearing to be rotatable and arranged so that a portion of rotating shaft contacts with one end part of the bearing, and a rotator attached to the rotating shaft and arranged such that the bearing is interposed and supported between the portion of rotator and the rotator.
Abstract: An ultrasonic probe to be used for an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus for obtaining an ultrasonic image. The ultrasonic probe comprises a catheter having a hollow tubing structure, a joint having a tubing structure and arranged to be at its one end portion connected to a tip portion of said catheter, a bearing connected to the other end portion of the joint, a rotating shaft inserted into the bearing to be rotatable and arranged so that a portion of the rotating shaft contacts with one end portion of the bearing, and a rotator connected to the rotating shaft and arranged so that one end portion of the rotator contacts with the other end portion of the bearing so that the bearing is interposed and supported between the portion of the rotating shaft and the rotator. An ultrasonic transducer is inserted into the rotator for transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic wave, a torque transmission shaft having a hollow structure is at its one end portion connected to the rotating shaft, and a guide wire is inserted into the hollow of the torque transmission shaft. A rotating force generated by a drive section is applied through the torque transmission shaft to the ultrasonic transducer whereby the ultrasonic transducer rotationally driven to perform a radial scanning operation. This arrangement allows a free movement of the guidewire within the catheter so that the catheter can easily be lead along the guidewire up to a target portion within a blood vessel.

TL;DR: In this paper, a speech synthesizer customization system has been proposed for generating a hierarchical customized user database, which enables the user database to uniformly override subsequently generated speech synthesis data at all hierarchical levels of the dynamic data structure.
Abstract: A speech synthesizer customization system (10) provides a mechanism for generating a hierarchical customized user database. The customization system has a template management tool (14) for generating the templates based on customization data from a user (18) and associated replicated dynamic synthesis data (20) from a text-to-speech (TTS) synthesizer (12). The replicated dynamic synthesis data is arranged in a dynamic data structure having hierarchical levels. The customization system further includes a user database (22) that supplements a standard database of the synthesizer. The tool populates the user database with the templates such that the templates enable the user database to uniformly override subsequently generated speech synthesis data at all hierarchical levels of the dynamic data structure.

30 Dec 2010TL;DR: In this article, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high safety in which breakage of a positive electrode plate and buckling of a negative electrode plate are reduced during charging and discharging is presented.
Abstract: [Purpose] A purpose of the present invention is to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high safety in which breakage of a positive electrode plate and buckling of a negative electrode plate are reduced during charging and discharging. [Solutions] A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an electrode group 10 in which a positive electrode plate 4 including a positive electrode current collector 1 and a positive electrode material mixture layer 2a, 2b formed on the positive electrode current collector 1, and a negative electrode plate 8 including a negative electrode current collector 5 and a negative electrode material mixture layer 6a, 6b formed on the negative electrode current collector 8, are wound or stacked with a separator 9 interposed therebetween. The positive electrode material mixture layer 2a, 2b has at least one thin portion 3a, 3b extending perpendicularly to a longitudinal direction of the positive electrode plate 4.

05 Dec 2003TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a radio communication method to use the spatial degree of freedom at its maximum and provide radio communication system having an improved communication capacity by using the radio communication methods.
Abstract: In the environment of a communication area including a SDM-compatible mobile station for space division multiplex transmission and a SDM-uncompatible mobile station not compatible with space division multiplex transmission, a base station having a plurality of antennas and capable of adaptively changing directivity performs allocation of a mobile station which simultaneously performs space division multiplex transmission (SDM) and space division multiplex access (SDMA) by using a predetermined space division multiplex transmission evaluation criterion and a space division multi access evaluation criterion. By using this radio communication method, it is possible to use the spatial degree of freedom at its maximum and provide a radio communication system having an improved communication capacity.
