TL;DR: In this article, an information terminal device receives route information on a route from a start point to a destination and guidance information required for route guidance, in accordance with a standard communications protocol.
Abstract: In an information terminal device, a processor receives route information on a route from a start point to a destination and guidance information required for route guidance, in accordance with a standard communications protocol. The processor guides the route from the start point to the destination through an information presentation part by using first cartographic data having a basis on the received route information and the guidance information. The processor requests, as required, a specific information service center for point information in a tag format showing details of each important point (POI) on the route through an information request part. As a result, the processor receives the point information on the important point from the information service center in accordance with the standard communications protocol. The processor presents the received point information on the important point simultaneously with a map based on the first cartographic data to clearly indicate each of the important points on the route. With the aid of the tag format, the information terminal device is capable of receiving, using the standard communications protocol, various information in the suitable format for the route guidance.

TL;DR: In this paper, a video signal encoding/decoding system reduces ringing noise by using a post-filter which performs anisotropic diffusion on decoded data, which is based on the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG).
Abstract: A video signal encoding/decoding system reduces ringing noise by using a post-filter which performs anisotropic diffusion on decoded data. The exemplary system uses an encoding/decoding technique such as that developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). The post-filter processes individual blocks of pixels, assigning an individual edge significance threshold to each block. Noise removal occurs if the edge strength is below the threshold and is inhibited if the edge strength is above the threshold.

TL;DR: In this article, a light source apparatus consisting of an excitation light source including a laser light source, a first wheel that is controlled to rotate, and a second wheel that includes a dichroic filter that transmits light having a desired wavelength component of each of the fluorescence and the excitation output from the dichroidic mirror is described.
Abstract: A light source apparatus includes: an excitation light source including a laser light source; a first wheel that is controlled to rotate, and includes, in a part of a surface thereof to be illuminated by excitation light emitted from the excitation light source, a phosphor layer to be excited by the excitation light; a dichroic mirror that guides fluorescence emitted from the phosphor layer of the first wheel and the excitation light to an illumination optical system; and a second wheel that is controlled to rotate, and includes a dichroic filter that transmits light having a desired wavelength component of each of the fluorescence and the excitation light output from the dichroic mirror.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and scheduling apparatus for reserving radio resources in radio resource block units in a mobile communication system for a plurality of users is proposed, where individual resource blocks are reserved for individual users for a reservation period that comprises a plurality time slots (or sub-frames).
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and scheduling apparatus for reserving radio resources in radio resource block units in a mobile communication system for a plurality of users. Further, another aspect of the invention is the indication of a radio resource reservation in radio resource block units in a mobile communication system to one of a plurality of mobile terminals. To provide a new mechanism allowing an efficient utilization of radio resources the invention proposes a resource reservation mechanism that reserves radio resources for a plurality of users in resource block units. Thereby, individual resource blocks are reserved for the individual users for a reservation period that comprises a plurality of time slots (or sub-frames). Further, the resource block reservations for the users overlap at least partially among the users, i.e. individual ones of the resource blocks are reserved for plural users.

TL;DR: In this paper, a remote control system for controlling an electronic device includes a remote controller and a Remote Control Interface (RCI) consisting of a memory for storing a plurality of control data and a receiver for receiving the response signal; and a control signal transmitter for selecting control data specific to the type of the electronic device from the plurality of data, generating one of the control signals and transmitting the generated control signal.
Abstract: A remote control system for controlling an electronic device includes a remote controller and a remote control interface. The remote controller includes a memory for storing a plurality of control data respectively indicating the relationship between a plurality of control signals and functions of the electronic device corresponding to the plurality of control signals; a trigger signal transmitter for transmitting a trigger signal for causing the electronic device to transmit a response signal which is specific to the type of the electronic device; a receiver for receiving the response signal; and a control signal transmitter for selecting control data specific to the type of the electronic device from the plurality of control data based on the response signal, generating one of the control signals, and transmitting the generated control signal. The remote control interface includes a receiver for receiving a signal transmitted from the remote controller; a signal generator for generating the response signal specific to the type of the electronic device; and a transmitter for, when the signal is a control signal, transmitting the control signal to the electronic device, and for, when the signal is a trigger signal demanding the response signal, transmitting the response signal to the remote controller.
