TL;DR: In this paper, the nitrogen doping effect on the Ge-Sb-Te recording layer was quantitatively examined and it was found that the most suitable nitrogen concentration was from 2 to 3 at%.
Abstract: The nitrogen doping effect on the Ge–Sb–Te recording layer was quantitatively examined. We succeeded in the quantitative analysis of the nitrogen concentration in the Ge–Sb–Te–(N) recording layer by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) observation. The nitrogen concentration could be finely controlled at a high deposition rate of 4.7 nm/s. The addition of a small amount of nitrogen remarkably improved the overwrite cycle numbers. We found that the most suitable nitrogen concentration was from 2 to 3 at%. We proposed a model to explain the nitrogen atom function in the recording layer. The nitrogen atoms produced nitrides, which are condensed near the grain boundaries of Ge–Sb–Te microcrystals. This resulted in the formation of very thin wrappings, which wrap the crystal grain in a manner similar to that of the peel of a peach and suppressed the micro-material flow. We achieved 8×105 overwrite cycles at λ=790 nm, NA=0.50 and using the pit position modulation (PPM) recording method where the minimum bit length is 0.87 µm.

25 Jun 1997TL;DR: A system capable of storing the application packages and thereafter reproducing a desired one of the stored application packages at any time is presented in this paper, where the SAIs are distributed independently from and prior to the application data.
Abstract: A system capable of storing the application packages and thereafter reproducing a desired one of the stored application packages at any time. The application package comprises a plurality of applications. Each of the applications comprises application data which comprises forms a main body of the application and service adding information (SAI) comprising various data including an application ID of the application. The SAIs are distributed independently from and prior to the application data. Each of the SAIs can include method IDs of methods for processing object data specified by a method processing program and a plurality of link data comprising application IDs of other applications. This permits the SAIs to form a tree structure of the applications. The methods are activated in a event driven manner.

15 Dec 2004TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for providing measurements on a bit-rate provided to scheduled data having a guaranteed bitrate and being transmitted on at least one dedicated uplink data channel by at least user equipment via a C-RNC.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing measurements on a bit-rate provided to scheduled data having a guaranteed bit-rate and being transmitted on at least one dedicated uplink data channel by at least user equipment via a C-RNC. Further, the invention also relates to a method for initiating congestion control for scheduled data of at least one guaranteed bit-rate priority class in a mobile communication system. Moreover, the invention relates to a C-RNC as well as a serving radio network controller performing these methods. To enable the C-RNC within a mobile communication system to perform congestion control for uplink transmissions having a guaranteed bit-rate the invention suggests to provide the C-RNC with a bit-rate being provided to scheduled data of the guaranteed bit-rate priority class using common or dedicated measurement procedures. This provided bit-rate is evaluated and taken as a basis for deciding on whether congestion control for data of the priority class needs to be performed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on continuous wave lasing characteristics of GaN vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs), which operate at room temperature under current injection by using highly reflective distributed Bragg reflectors.
Abstract: We report on continuous wave lasing characteristics of GaN vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs). The VCSEL operates at room temperature under current injection by using highly reflective distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs) made up of transparent ${\rm ZrO}_{2}$ and ${\rm SiO}_{2}$ film stacks. Together with high reflectivity and the wide stop band of the DBR, the long cavity of 6 $\mu{\rm m}$ allows multimode lasing oscillation with narrow mode spacing of 2.9 nm. In addition, a short cavity structure of 2 $\mu{\rm m}$ is fabricated and shows quasi-single mode operation. The spacing of the lasing modes shows a clear dependence of the actual cavity lengths with fairly good agreement to theory taking account of the refractive index dispersion.

16 Oct 1997TL;DR: In this paper, the upwardly curved upper surface of a dome-shape movable contact made of a thin elastic metal plate is bonded to a sheet 12 of insulating film whose lower surface is coated with an adhesive agent 12A.
Abstract: In a panel switch movable contact body, and a panel switch using the movable contact body, the upwardly curved upper surface of a dome-shape movable contact 1 made of a thin elastic metal plate is bonded to a sheet 12 of insulating film whose lower surface is coated with an adhesive agent 12A, and the opening of the dome-shaped movable contact 1 is closed with a separator 13 which is bonded to the adhesive surface of the sheet 12. Hence, the panel switch movable contact body, and the panel using the latter is small in the number of components, and low in manufacturing cost, and can be assembled with high efficiency.
