TL;DR: In this article, a video server is provided with a stream control section which determines a keyframe readout interval and a key-frame playback interval that satisfy a playback speed designated by a terminal apparatus.
Abstract: A video server apparatus is provided with a stream control section which determines a keyframe readout interval and a keyframe playback interval that satisfy a playback speed designated by a terminal apparatus. The video server apparatus transmits data of the thus-determined keyframe playback interval to the terminal apparatus. The video server apparatus reads out keyframes of a stored bit stream from at the thus-determined keyframe readout interval, and transmits a stream including the read-out keyframes to the terminal apparatus. The terminal apparatus decodes and displays the transmitted stream at the received keyframe playback interval. This system can correctly perform a playback at an arbitrary speed that is designated by the terminal apparatus.

TL;DR: The voice source for the synthetic speech system is human generated speech waveforms that are inverse filtered to produce glottal waveforms representing larynx sound, which are modified in pitch and amplitude, as required, to produce the desired sound as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The voice source for the synthetic speech system is human generated speech waveforms that are inverse filtered to produce glottal waveforms representing larynx sound. These glottal waveforms are modified in pitch and amplitude, as required, to produce the desired sound. The human quality of the synthetically generated voice is further brought out by adding vocal tract effects, as desired. The pitch control is effected in one of two alternate ways, a loop method, or a concatenation method.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have proposed a wireless communication apparatus capable of improving communication efficiency by reducing the amount of control information transmitted by using channel quality information extraction (CQI) and subcarrier allocation.
Abstract: Wireless communication apparatus capable of improving communication efficiency by reducing the amount of control information transmitted is disclosed. With this apparatus, channel quality information extraction section (103) extracts CQI's from a received signal. Allocation control section 104 allocates subcarriers every communication terminal apparatus and selects a modulation scheme in such a manner that required transmission rate is satisfied for each communication terminal apparatus based on required transmission rate information etc. and CQI's for communication terminal apparatus of each user. Required subcarrier number determining section (105) decides the number of subcarriers allocated every communication terminal apparatus in such a manner as to satisfy the required transmission rate for each communication terminal apparatus based on required transmission rate information etc. of communication terminal apparatus of each user. Required subcarrier number information generating section (107) generates information for the number of subcarriers allocated every communication terminal apparatus. Subcarrier allocation section (110) allocates packet data to selected subcarriers. Modulating sections (111-1 to 111-N) adaptively modulate packet data allocated to each subcarrier.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a data communication system in which a communication scheme is switched without a decrease in communication efficiency, where the first and second devices select either a full-duplex communication scheme or a half-duplication communication scheme depending on the first-and second communication flags in compliance with a procedure predetermined between the devices.
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a data communication system in which a communication scheme is switched without a decrease in communication efficiency. In a data communication system including first and second devices that are capable of performing full-duplex communication and half-duplex communication via a set of channels connecting the first and second devices, the first device transmits, via the set of channels, to the second device a first communication flag indicating whether half-duplex communication is to be specified in accordance with a communication processing capability of the first device, the second device transmits, via the set of channels, to the first device a second communication flag indicating whether half-duplex communication is to be specified in accordance with a communication processing capability of the second device, and the first and second devices select either a full-duplex communication scheme or a half-duplex communication scheme depending on the first and second communication flags in compliance with a procedure predetermined between the devices and perform data communication in the selected communication scheme, the selected communication scheme conforming to the communication processing capability of each device.
