TL;DR: In this paper, a motor driving apparatus consisting of an inverter circuit for converting an output voltage of a power supply into a three-phase AC and outputting the same to the brushless motor is described.
Abstract: A motor driving apparatus comprises an inverter circuit for converting an output voltage of a power supply into a three-phase AC and outputting the same to the brushless motor; a rotor position estimation unit for estimating a rotor position of the brushless motor; and an inverter control unit for controlling the inverter circuit so that the brushless motor is driven by a current based on the estimated rotor position. The inverter control unit determines an advance angle of the current supplied to the brushless motor with respect to the estimated rotor position so as to minimize a deviation between a command rpm and an actual rpm. Therefore, it is possible to perform stable weak field control for the brushless motor, independently from the input voltage of the inverter circuit, without using predetermined control variables such as table values.

TL;DR: In this article, a remote-control apparatus for operating a plurality of audio visual apparatuses is presented on a display screen, where a cursor is selected and operated by pointing out an icon with a cursor.
Abstract: A remote-control apparatus for operating a plurality of audio visual apparatuses. On a display screen a plurality of icons showing functions and operation modes of audio visual apparatuses are displayed. An audio visual apparatus is selected and operated by pointing out an icon with a cursor. The cursor is shifted to predetermined positions on the display screen by manipulating one of several switches on the remote control apparatus. The shiftable destination of the cursor with respect to a switch is determined by a set of predetermined rules in which the relation between the switches and the destination of the cursor is changed based on the present position of the cursor.

TL;DR: In this article, a speech recognizer and natural language parser are coupled with a dialog system that engages the user in a dialog to determine what the user is interested in accessing from the storage medium.
Abstract: Program content, recorded to a storage medium such as disk recorder, optical recorder or random access memory, is indexed by the replay file system. The file system maintains a storage location and program I.D. record for each recorded program. The file system further maintains other data obtained from an electronic program guide that may be accessed by downloading from the cable or satellite infrastructure or over the internet. The file system also may store additional user data, such as the date and time the program was last viewed, together with any user-recorded indexes. The file system may be accessed through natural language input speech. The system includes a speech recognizer and natural language parser, coupled to a dialog system that engages the user in a dialog to determine what the user is interested in accessing from the storage medium. The natural language parser operates with a task-based grammar that is keyed to the electronic program guide data and user data maintained by the file system.

TL;DR: A beam scanning-type display device used as a head-mounted display (HMD) or head-up display (HUD) includes a light source which emits a beam, a scanning unit which performs scanning using the beam emitted from the light source, a deflecting unit which deflects the beam used for the scanning by the scanning unit in the direction toward an eye of a user, and a wavefront shape changing unit which changes the wave front shape of the beam from the source light source so that the beam spot size falls within a predetermined allowable range, and emits the beam
