TL;DR: In this article, a soldering inspection system where light is irradiated on a soldered part at different incident angles by a light emitting means to collect information indicative of three-dimensional configuration of the soldered parts and discriminate whether or not the configuration is acceptable.
Abstract: A soldering inspection system wherein light is irradiated on a soldered part at different incident angles by a light emitting means to collect information indicative of three-dimensional configuration of the soldered part and discriminate whether or not the configuration is acceptable. The three-dimensional configurational information can be obtained with light irradiated at least from two positions mutually of different angles with respect to the soldered part, the inspection is thereby made from quantitative viewpoint, and a highly precise result of the inspection is obtainable.

TL;DR: In this paper, an improved handover method for E-UTRAN to UTRAN in a scenario where SMS is the only service of the mobile node is proposed, which allows saving radio resources by establishing the signalling connection for SMS exchange in the target network, and avoiding the data connection in a target network since it is not used.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for handover of a mobile node from E-UTRAN to UTRAN in a scenario where SMS is the only service of the mobile node. The improved handover method allows saving radio resources by establishing the signalling connection for SMS exchange in the target network, and avoiding the data connection in the target network, since it is not used. The MME takes the decision to establish or not the data connection in the target UTRAN, and accordingly instructs the SGSN and UE to set the corresponding PDP contexts for the data connection to a “preserved” state, so as to avoid the establishment of same. Embodiments further relate to improved SMS delivery for IDLE mode UEs that activate ISR so as to avoid the involvement of the MSC server. Instead, packet-switched domain nodes are to be involved only.

TL;DR: In this paper, an electronic mail system connected to a network includes a section for converting an image of a document surface into corresponding document image data, and another section for compressing the document image image data into compression-resultant image data.
Abstract: An electronic mail system connected to a network includes a section for converting an image of a document surface into corresponding document image data, and a section for compressing the document image data into compression-resultant image data. The electronic mail system also includes a section for converting the compression-resultant image data into corresponding image data of a given electronic-mail format, a section for receiving information of an electronic-mail destination address, and a section for transmitting the image data of the electronic-mail format toward the electronic-mail destination address via the network. The electronic mail system may further include a section for receiving image data in an electronic mail, a section for converting the received image data into corresponding received image data of a given facsimile format, a section for expanding the received image data of the facsimile format into expansion-resultant image data, and a section for printing the expansion-resultant image data.

TL;DR: In this article, prosody templates are constructed so that words exhibiting the same stress pattern will be assigned the same prosody template, and the prosody information is preferably stored in a normalized form to reduce noise level in the statistical measures.
Abstract: Prosody templates, constructed during system design, store intonation (F0) and duration information based on syllabic stress patterns for the target word. The prosody templates are constructed so that words exhibiting the same stress pattern will be assigned the same prosody template. The prosody template information is preferably stored in a normalized form to reduce noise level in the statistical measures. The synthesizer uses a word dictionary that specifies the stress patterns associated with each stored word. These stress patterns are used to access the prosody template database. F0 and duration information is then extracted from the selected template, de-normalized and applied to the phonemic information to produce a natural human-sounding prosody in the synthesized output.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for forming fine pattern free from shear of pattern caused by charging and high in dry etch resistance by using a high molecular organic film containing an organometallic complex or a metallic salt in single-layer or multi-layer resist process and treating the surface of this film with a reducing agent to form a metallic layer on the surface.
