19 Nov 1996TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a virtual file management system with a plurality of servers and terminals that share file services provided by said servers, where the file access request is a request to read file contents.
Abstract: A virtual file management system constructed with a plurality of servers and a plurality of terminals that share file services provided by said servers, is that a virtual file management apparatus operating in at least one of said plurality of servers is provided that has: a management table which manages files stored on said plurality of servers by using virtual file identifiers, and in which a server name of a server where real data is stored and a real file identifier in said server are stored as a set for each of said virtual file identifiers; a receiving section which receives a file access request from each of said terminals; a request analyzing section which checks said management table by using the virtual file identifier contained in the file access request received by said receiving section, and thereby determines the server where the real data of the requested file is stored; a transmitting section which transmits data; and a request modification processing section which modifies said file access request so that a response to said file access request can be sent back to the terminal that issued said access request, directly from the server determined by said request analyzing section, and which instructs said transmitting section to transmit said modified file access request to said determined server, and said plurality of servers each include a request processing section which receives the file access request transmitted from said transmitting section of said virtual file management apparatus, and processes said received file access request, and which transmits the processed result to said terminal at least when said file access request is a request to read file contents.

02 Jun 2005TL;DR: A BD-ROM stores PlayList information as discussed by the authors, which defines a playback section of each of a plurality of AV clips and includes MainPath information and SubPath information, and defines a portion of the SubClip as a secondary playback section that is to be played back in synchronism with the primary playback section.
Abstract: A BD-ROM stores PlayList information. The PlayList information defines a playback section of each of a plurality of AV clips and includes MainPath information and SubPath information. The MainPath information designates one of the AV clips as a Main Clip and defines a portion of the Main Clip as a primary playback section. The SubPath information designates another one of the AV clips as a SubClip and defines a portion of the SubClip as a secondary playback section that is to be played back in synchronism with the primary playback section. The BD-ROM stores, the one of the AV clips designated as the SubClip along with an EP_map. The EP_map shows a plurality of entry points on the SubClip in a one-to-one correspondence with entry times on the SubClip timeline.

16 Mar 2001TL;DR: A light unit which includes a plurality of light-emitting diode (LED) light sources arranged in parallel, a light-guiding member arranged on said LED light sources, and an optical path changing part arranged above said light-diffusion part is shown in this article.
Abstract: A light unit which includes a plurality of light-emitting diode (LED) light sources arranged in parallel, a light-guiding member arranged on said LED light sources, a light reflecting part for reflecting light from said LED light sources forward, a light diffusion part for outgoing light from the surface of said light-guiding member to outside, and an optical path changing part arranged above said light-diffusion part, wherein a side of said light-guiding member that faces said light diffusion part is flat.

06 Dec 2011TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method for reporting on downlink timings by a mobile terminal in a mobile communication system, where the mobile terminal performs measurements relating to transmission and/or reception time differences on the target/reference cell, and reports same to the eNodeB.
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for reporting on downlink timings by a mobile terminal in a mobile communication system. In order to allow for an aggregation access point to obtain information on propagation delay differences of downlink transmissions on aggregated serving cells, the invention suggests the mobile terminal to report timing information based on reception time difference information for a the target/reference cell. The mobile terminal performs measurements relating to transmission and/or reception time differences on the target/reference cell, and reports same to the eNodeB. The eNodeB compares the measurement result to a predefined maximum propagation delay time difference. Alternatively, the mobile terminal performs the measurements, compares same to the predefined maximum propagation delay time difference and then report the comparison result to the eNodeB.

20 Dec 2001TL;DR: In this paper, a face image is subjected to brightness correction to increase the contrast between the sclera portion and iris portion of the eye, and matching is performed between a brightness gradient image generated using the calculated brightness gradient vectors and an eye template.
Abstract: The position of an eye is detectable with high precision from a face image of a person taken under near infrared illumination or the like. After pre-processing, the face image is subjected to brightness correction to increase the contrast between the sclera portion and iris portion of the eye. Brightness gradient vectors are calculated for the brightness-corrected image, and matching is performed between a brightness gradient image generated using the calculated brightness gradient vectors and an eye template. Further, matching with a pupil template is performed to correct the eye center position. Final positions of both eyes are then determined.
