TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship between social identification and ethnocentrism in a competitive sports context with the help of the dogmatism scale and found a positive effect of Outgroup Authoritarian Intolerance, measured in the neutral condition, on Belief and Activism Toward One Cause (BOW) measure.
Abstract: In the framework of intergroup relationships, Social Identity Theory (SIT) and Real Conflict Theory (RCT) both hypothesize a positive relationship between social identification and ethnocentrism in threatening en-vironments. The RCT proposes that conflict for scarce resources between groups determines ingroup identification while the SIT predicts that intensity of social identification leads to outgroup hostility in threatening contexts. An examination of these relationships is undertaken in a competitive sports context with the help of the dogmatism scale. Relationships between Belief and Activism Toward One Cause, as a social identification measure, and Out-group Authoritarian Intolerance, as an ethnocentrism measure were studied across two experimental conditions (neutral vs. competitive). The results describe a positive effect of Out-group Authoritarian Intolerance, measured in the neutral condition, on Belief and Activism Toward One Cause, measured in the competitive condition, validating RCT. The results are discussed based on complementary individual and collective analyses (i.e., dogmatism and intergroup relationship theories) of ethnocentrism.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method to compute explicit thermal solutions for laminated and sandwich beams with arbitrary heat source location is developed, where the temperature is written as a sum of separated functions of the axial coordinate x, the transverse coordinate z and the volumetric heat source position x 0.

TL;DR: This paper showed that the mother frequently intervened at first by offering direct and indirect repairs but progressively elicited the child's own repairs through repair initiations, and that repairs were often co-constructed through multiple turns before being fully initiated by the child.
Abstract: Following a usage-based approach of language acquisition, the goal of this article is to make a detailed analysis of other and self-repairs targeting a French child’s non-conventional productions between 1;09 and 4;0. The study’s hypotheses were that (1) the mother would start by offering repairs and later in development use strategies to lead the child towards self-repair; (2) she would focus on repairing different linguistic levels at different stages of the child’s development; (3) she would favor the flow of communication over formal correction; (4) the child would progressively detect mismatches between her input and her output and self-repair her own productions. The results showed that the mother frequently intervened at first by offering direct and indirect repairs but progressively elicited the child’s own repairs through repair initiations. Repairs were thus often co-constructed through multiple turns before being fully initiated by the child. The mother and child’s repairs targeted different li...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed an event study using a sample of 50 SWF acquisitions of equity stakes in listed companies around the world, from May 2005 to April 2008, and found that the announcement of an acquisition by a SWF has a transitory positive impact on the share price of the target company, but there is no lasting effect.
Abstract: This study assesses the reaction of stock markets, when Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) announce that they have taken a stake in a listed company. It adds useful empirical results to the debate on the effect of SWFs on financial markets, which remains so far largely reliant on guess work. We perform an event study using a sample of 50 SWF acquisitions of equity stakes in listed companies around the world, from May 2005 to April 2008. According to our results, the announcement of an acquisition by a SWF has a transitory positive impact on the share price of the target company, but there is no lasting effect. This stands in contrast to the results obtained in the academic literature for the investments of private equity funds, and to a lesser extent pension funds. The tests conducted on a sub-sample of announcements targeting banks only made during the subprime crisis (between July 2007 and April 2008) do not exhibit more lasting effects. This may suggest that markets are not convinced that SWFs alone are capable of restoring the position of the banks concerned. These results are however subject to some caveats, and notably, the relatively small size of the sample as well as a selection bias in favour of transparent SWFs, due to the lack of information on other funds.

Abstract: This paper aims deals with the place of ancient studies in Les Cahiers de Tunisie It traces their history and is interested in their place in this periodical Finally, after having justified the choice of the period (1953-2011), we attach in a final part, to give some elements of methodology and to present the main axes of the bibliographic search
