Abstract: Simulation of thermal phenomena in rotational moulding is very important to follow the evolution of the temperature in various zones of this process. It was a question of modelling heat gradients developing in rotational moulding part. Thermal model tested take into account the temperature change (thermal transfer mechanism) of melting and crystallization pseudo-stages (enthalpy method). Series of tests in polyamide 11 (PA11) were carried out by means of rotational moulding STP LAB, and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of rotational moulding PA11 grade are measured and analysed by DSC technique type TAQ20. A result of non-isothermal crystallization of the studied polyamide was confronted with Ozawa model. In order to test the validity degree of enthalpy method (layer to layer), another approach based on Ozawa model has also been used in the case of cooling pseudo-stage. As results, the rotational moulding of PA11 was successfully carried out. The simulation of the fusion and crystallization stages, by application of Ozawa model coupled with enthalpy method gave a good representation of experimental data.

Abstract: Due to the energy transfer from surface plasmons, the fluorescence of fluorophores near metallic nanostructures can be enhanced. This effect has been intensively studied recently for biosensor applications. This work reports on the luminescence enhancement of 100nm Cy3 dye-doped polystyrene nanoparticles by energy transfer from surface plasmons of gold colloidal nanoparticles with sizes of 20 and 100nm. Optimal luminescence enhancement of the fluorophores has been observed in the mixture with 20nm gold nanoparticles. This can be attributed to the resonance energy transfer from gold nanoparticles to the fluorophore beads. The interaction between the fluorophores and gold particles is attributed to far-field interaction.

Abstract: With the ongoing rise of demand in traffic networks, congestion control has become of major importance for urban areas. In this paper, we introduce the notion of network utility maximization for boundary flow control of urban networks. We describe how maximizing the aggregate utility of the network leads to a fair allocation of network resources to different arrivals while maintaining system stability. We demonstrate how utility maximization problem can be solved using Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM). We further show how our algorithm can be partially distributed such that each entry link finds its arrival for maximizing its own objective while maximizing the total utility of the network. We showcase the performance of our algorithm in an example illustrating fast convergence of our method and its capability in stabilizing the network.

Abstract: Purpose: Wheelchair locomotion is constraining for the upper limbs and involves a set of motor tasks that need to be learnt by a novice user. To understand this integration process, we investigated the evolution of shoulder kinetics during start-up and propulsion within the initial phase of low-intensity uninstructed training.Materials and methods: Seventeen novice able-bodied subjects performed a 120-min uninstructed practice distributed over 4 weeks. During the initial and final sessions, upper limbs kinematics and hand-rim kinetics were continuously collected. Inverse kinematics and dynamics coupled to a three-dimensional linked-segment model were used to compute shoulder net moments.Results: Participants increased the speed of the wheelchair with practice. In average, an increase of shoulder net moments and mechanical work during the push phase was observed. Conversely, during the recovery phase, participants slightly increased shoulder power but maintained a similar level of shoulder loading....
