TL;DR: In this paper, the Mythen detector (Microstrip system for time-resolved experiments) has been built for the powder diffraction Station of the Material Science beamline at the Swiss Light Source to meet these requirements.
Abstract: Time-resolved experiments in powder diffraction are limited by the long time required to record spectra with current detectors. A major improvement can be made by using a massively parallel X-ray detection system together with a fast read out. The Mythen detector (Microstrip system for time-resolved experiments) has been built for the Powder Diffraction Station of the Material Science beamline at the Swiss Light Source to meet these requirements. The specifically developed read out chip (Mythen chip), the detector system and first measurements are shown.

TL;DR: It is shown that the dipole-exchange spin waves excited in this system have a linear, non-reciprocal dispersion and that their wavelength can be tuned by changing the driving frequency.
Abstract: The magnetic field-driven dynamics of nanosized magnetic vortex cores can be used to generate propagating short-wavelength spin waves in heterostructures with antiferromagnetically coupled layers.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on the calculation of the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to hadronic ${W}^{+}{W}^{\ensuremath{-}}b\overline{b}$ production, which provides a complete NLO description of the production of top-antitop pairs and their subsequent decay into $W$ bosons and bottom quarks, including interferences, offshell effects, and nonresonant backgrounds.
Abstract: Top-antitop quark pairs belong to the most abundantly produced and precisely measurable heavy-particle signatures at hadron colliders and allow for crucial tests of the standard model and new physics searches. Here we report on the calculation of the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to hadronic ${W}^{+}{W}^{\ensuremath{-}}b\overline{b}$ production, which provides a complete NLO description of the production of top-antitop pairs and their subsequent decay into $W$ bosons and bottom quarks, including interferences, off-shell effects, and nonresonant backgrounds. Numerical predictions for the Tevatron and the LHC are presented.

TL;DR: Terahertz generation in organic crystals DSTMS, DAST and OH1 directly pumped by a Cr:forsterite laser at central wavelength of 1.25 μm is investigated and phase-matching is demonstrated over a broad 0.1-8 THz frequency range.
Abstract: We investigated Terahertz generation in organic crystals DSTMS, DAST and OH1 directly pumped by a Cr:forsterite laser at central wavelength of 1.25 μm. This pump laser technology provides a laser-to-THz energy conversion efficiency higher than 3 percent. Phase-matching is demonstrated over a broad 0.1-8 THz frequency range. In our simple setup we achieved hundred μJ pulses in tight focus resulting in electric and magnetic field larger than 10 MV/cm and 3 Tesla.
