22 Sep 2004TL;DR: In this paper, a bypass clock instead of the boundary clock is proposed as an enhancement of the IEEE-1588 standard for bridged networks, where the local clock adjustment can be modeled by a corresponding control loop.
Abstract: The IEEE-1588 standard for a high precision time synchronization now exists since 2002. For using this standard in bridged networks a so-called boundary clock is defined, where the local clock adjustment can be modeled by a corresponding control loop. At the field level of industrial automation systems, the line topology is very important. By using Ethernet at the field level, the resulting chain of bridges leads to a cascade of control loops and may lead to instabilities and deviations of the distributed clocks, which are not acceptable. For this application a bypass clock instead of the boundary clock is proposed as an enhancement of the IEEE-1588 standard. The effectiveness of this extension to be evaluated by simulation technique.

11 Aug 2004TL;DR: The plug-in jumper as mentioned in this paper is an elastic busbar with two contact legs located essentially parallel to one another, of which at least one is made elastic, and the plugs have two contact areas which are located on top of one another for contact-making of two busbars of two junction and/or connecting terminals.
Abstract: A plug-in jumper for terminal blocks is provided for elastic engagement in openings in busbars and for electrical contact-making of the busbars of at least two junction and/or connecting terminals. The plug-in jumper includes a jumper bar having a bar strip and several plugs which are connected to the bar strip. Each plug has at least two contact legs located essentially parallel to one another, of which at least one is made elastic. The plug-in jumper makes it possible to electrically interconnect different busbars of different terminal blocks since the plugs have two contact areas which are located on top of one another for contact-making of two busbars of two junction and/or connecting terminals which are located next to one another, wherein the two busbars are located on a different planes.

15 Apr 2004TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an approach for the packet-oriented transmission of security-relevant data with a high level of protection against statistical and systematic errors with an insecure transmission medium.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the packet-oriented transmission of security-relevant data. One task of the invention is the provision of a way for the packet-oriented transmission of security-relevant data ensuring —under the guarantee of a considerably enhanced user data rate —a high level of protection against statistical and systematic errors with an insecure transmission medium. The invention provides, particularly for the use of at least one parallel and/or serial network and/or bus system, a process and devices for the packet-oriented transmission of security-relevant data allowing the transmission of security-relevant data and a redundant information that is based on the data in different packets.

19 Oct 2004TL;DR: In this paper, a screening connection device for a circuit board mounted within a housing possesses a plug component attached to the exterior of a housing wall by means of securing screws that may be coupled to a socket component mounted to the interior of the housing wall through a cutout in the wall.
Abstract: A screening connection device for a circuit board mounted within a housing possesses a plug component attached to the exterior of a housing wall by means of securing screws that may be coupled to a socket component mounted to the interior of the housing wall through a cutout in the wall. The plug component includes a screening connection in electrical contact with the securing screws to connect the shield of a cable connected to the plug component whose electrical lines may be connected to the circuit board via the plug component and the socket component. In order to provide contact elements between the securing screws of the plug component and the conductor on the circuit board provided to conduct the screen potential that are simple to manufacture, that provide positive contact, and that are robust components, screening plates are mountable so that they are fixed to the circuit board so that at least one conductor for connection of the screen potential may be brought into contact. Each of these screening plates includes a securing flange that rests against the interior side of the housing wall, and a threaded socket to engage one of the securing screws of the plug component.
