TL;DR: In this article, a plurality of coils are arranged in a matrix, wherein the coils have at least one conductor, which, at least once, surrounds a central axis of the associated coil in one turn.
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for contactless energy transmission by means of induction. There is a plurality of coils arranged in a matrix, wherein the coils have at least one conductor, which, at least once, surrounds a central axis of the associated coil in one turn. The central axis is perpendicular to the area surrounded by the conductor at the geometric centre of the surrounded area. The coils are arranged next to one another in a planar unit which extends in a first dimension, a second dimension and a third dimension. The extent of the planar unit in the first dimension and in the second dimension is substantially greater than in the third dimension. The central axis of each coil is, at least locally, at least virtually perpendicular to the area spanned by the first dimension and the second dimension. In addition, the coils are arranged within the planar unit regularly in rows and/or columns in such a way that each coil has at least two or three directly adjacent coils. The distances between the geometric centres of area of the coils with respect to one another and the shape and the spread of the at least one turn per coil are selected such that the mutual electromagnetic coupling between the associated coils is minimal for all pairs of directly adjacent coils in the planar unit.

TL;DR: In this article, a safety switching device has been implemented such that it can determine from at least one analog signal to be measured whether a predetermined parameter lies outside a predetermined operating range.
Abstract: A safety switching device, with which a safety-related device, can be set into a safe state. The safety switching device has a microprocessor or microcontroller, which can set an electric drive to be protected into a safe state both if an emergency circuit breaker, protective door switch, and/or two-hand switch is activated and also if there is faulty operation of the safety-related device or electric drive. For this purpose, the microprocessor is implemented such that it can determine from at least one analog signal to be measured whether a predetermined parameter lies outside a predetermined operating range. In addition, the microprocessor can be a component of a safety device which is constructed for multiple-channel control of a safety-related electric drive. In this way, the safety switching device can respond to several safety functions independent of each other in order to set an electric drive into a safe state.

TL;DR: The proposed FPGA architecture supports configuration of port numbers, bandwidth reservation for real-time frames and utilizes flow-control mechanisms of the ASIC in order to keep frame buffer sizes low.
Abstract: This paper presents an approach for the enhancement of standard switch ASICs with real-time Ethernet functions. Whereas a standard switch ASIC provides sophisticated mechanisms for switching of non real-time frames, an attached FPGA implements cut-through switching of real-time frames. The proposed FPGA architecture supports configuration of port numbers, bandwidth reservation for real-time frames and utilizes flow-control mechanisms of the ASIC in order to keep frame buffer sizes low. Mapping exemplary RTE extensions of PROFINET IRT onto a Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA demonstrates the capability of providing band-width reservation and cut-through-forwarding of real-time frames. Therefore, the approach benefits from the innovations made by the switch manufacturers, whereas only a small amount of functions has to be mapped onto an FPGA.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors review the changes in cell tower architecture being implemented to meet fourth generation network operating performance criteria and examine the steps that need to be taken to protect cell tower components from lightning and other surge and transient effects.
Abstract: Data throughput demands of fourth generation telecommunication systems have acted as a stimulus for a paradigm shift of the cell tower structure. This paradigm shift has included the implementation of the fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA) architecture. FTTA architecture implementation has enabled lower power requirements, distributed antenna sites and a smaller base station footprint when compared to conventional tower sites. This paper will review the changes in cell tower architecture being implemented to meet fourth generation network operating performance criteria and examine the steps that need to be taken to protect cell tower components from lightning and other surge and transient effects.

TL;DR: In this article, a bridge for an electrical terminal for electrically connecting current bars (4) of the terminal, where the bridge has a head part (1) and at least one resilient pair of clamping tongues (5) for inserting into an opening of the current bar (4), is described.
Abstract: The invention relates to a bridge for an electrical terminal for electrically connecting current bars (4) of the terminal, wherein the bridge has a head part (1) and at least one resilient pair of clamping tongues (5) for inserting into an opening (3) of the current bar (4), wherein the clamping tongues (5) each have an inside (8) and an outside (9), the outsides (9) each form a contact area (10) for contacting the opening (3), the clamping tongues (5) are each connected to the head part (1) and acted upon by spring force in such a way that the insides (8) of a clamping tongue pair (5) are arranged facing each other and are arranged spaced from each other when the clamping tongue pair (5) is not in contact with the current bar (4), the clamping tongues (5) each extend from the head part (1) to a tip (11), and the insides (8) each have a contour that is designed in such a way that, when the clamping tongue pair (5) is in contact with the current bar (4), the tips (11) of the clamping tongues (5) lie against each other and a gap (12) is formed between the insides (8) between the head part (1) and the tips (11). Because a gap (12) is formed between the insides (8) when the clamping tongue pair (5) is in contact with the current bar (4), production tolerances of the clamping tongues (5) can be compensated, which in turn leads to significantly improved contacting between the clamping tongues (5) and the current bar (4).
