01 Sep 2020TL;DR: Improvements with regards to the connectivity and integration of additional sensors as well as further activities such as coupling of context information about the process and development of a decision making system are discussed.
Abstract: This paper considers an implementation of the predictive maintenance for rotating equipment in a chemical process plant by means of the NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA). Various methods and challenges for monitoring of rotating equipment are described and compared. An approach based on the motor current measurement for the use case at a BASF plant was selected due to construction limitations. The focus is on connectivity aspects as well as details of implementation of the NOA concept. Use of the NOA concept made it possible to deploy the developed monitoring system into a real plant within one day during a planned maintenance window without any permanent alterations to the existing plant. The monitoring system works in parallel and affects neither the process nor the process control directly. Discussion of the first data gathered by the installed monitoring system showed that additional context information about the process are of great importance for the comprehensive analysis. At the end of the paper, improvements with regards to the connectivity and integration of additional sensors as well as further activities such as coupling of context information about the process and development of a decision making system are discussed.

26 Jan 2015TL;DR: In this paper, a terminal strip for latching onto a mounting rail is presented, where a busbar is arranged in a manner spaced apart from one another such that at least one plug connection is receivable in the first function shaft (21) and at least two screw connections are receivable simultaneously on one connection side (14, 15) of the busbar.
Abstract: The subject of the invention is a terminal strip (12) for latching onto a mounting rail (11), having a terminal housing (13) that has a first connection side (14) and a second connection side (15), a busbar (17) arranged in the terminal housing (13) and at least two conductor connection elements (19), arranged in the terminal housing (13), for connecting in each case at least one conductor to the busbar (17), wherein in each case a first function shaft (21) having at least one plug-connection receiving region (23a, 23b) and at least a second function shaft (22) having at least one screw-connection receiving region (24) are arranged on each of the two connection sides (14, 15) of the terminal housing (13), wherein one connection region is formed for each plug-connection receiving region (23a, 23b) and for each screw-connection receiving region (24) in the busbar (17), wherein the function shafts (21, 22) of one connection side (14, 15) are arranged in a manner spaced apart from one another such that at least one plug connection is receivable in the first function shaft (21) and at least one screw connection is receivable in the second function shaft (22) simultaneously on one connection side (14, 15).

14 Jan 2010TL;DR: In this article, a separation guide is arranged and formed such that the separation guide can be stretched and swiveled against spring action and relative to a relaxed condition when an end of the guide is connected with an overvoltage-limiting element.
Abstract: The element (1) has a separation guide (6) arranged and formed such that the separation guide is stretched and swiveled against spring action and relative to a relaxed condition when an end (8) of the guide is connected with an overvoltage-limiting element (3) i.e. double resistor by a soldered connection (9). The end of the guide executes both a linear movement in a direction of another end (7) of the guide and a swiveling movement while separating a solder joint. A plastic laterally spacing wall is present between the former end of the guide and a connecting tongue (12).
