TL;DR: In this paper, a control and data transmission installation and a process for transmission of safety-related data in a control-and-data transmission installation of a field bus is described.
Abstract: A control and data transmission installation and a process for transmission of safety-related data in a control and data transmission installation. In accordance with the invention, safety procedures of existing field bus systems, particularly the interbus, are improved in such a way that there is no need either for additional lines for the transmission of control signals or redundant, safety-related units. In the inventive control and data installation, a master control device and a number of bus subscribers each include respective safety-related devices for carrying out predetermined safety functions. The safety-related devices can communicate with each other by way of a field bus.

TL;DR: Two possible integration concepts of the PROFINET IO realtime Ethernet standard are described using INTERBUS and PROFIBUS as an example to show that it is possible, despite very different device models of the considered fieldbus systems, to implement a high level of integration.
Abstract: Ethernet has become so popular that it has also been further developed/or use at field level in automation technology under realtime conditions However, for reasons of function and investment protection, the introduction of realtime Ethernet in automation solutions is likely to be a gradual process Suitable solutions for the integration of existing fieldbus technology into the realtime Ethernet network are therefore required This paper describes two possible integration concepts of the PROFINET IO realtime Ethernet standard using INTERBUS and PROFIBUS as an example It shows that it is possible, despite very different device models of the considered fieldbus systems, to implement a high level of integration

TL;DR: In this article, a photovoltaic system with at least one string (20) of solar modules (30) and a system (12) for disconnecting individual solar modules and safely connecting or reconnecting the disconnected solar modules to the string is described.
Abstract: The invention relates to a photovoltaic system (1) with at least one string (20) of solar modules (30) and a system (12) for disconnecting individual solar modules and safely connecting or reconnecting the disconnected solar modules to the string. The solar junction boxes (12) are at least partially "intelligent" and have a safety circuit (13) which defines an operating state and a safe state. The solar junction boxes are switched from the safe state to the operating state, i.e. are activated, by injecting a starting current (76).

TL;DR: In this article, a thermally expandable material is arranged within the housing in a way that, in the event of thermal overloading of the overvoltage-limiting component, the position of the OLS component is changed by expansion of the thermally expansionable material relative to the positions of the connection elements.
Abstract: An overvoltage protection element with a housing, an overvoltage-limiting component arranged in the housing, and with two connection elements for electrically connecting the overvoltage protection element to the current or signal path to be protected, wherein, normally, the connection elements are each in electrically conductive contact with a pole of the overvoltage-limiting component. Reliable and effective electrical connection in the normal state and reliable isolation of a defective overvoltage-limiting component are ensured by the fact that a thermally expandable material is arranged within the housing in a way that, in the event of thermal overloading of the overvoltage-limiting component, the position of the overvoltage-limiting component is changed by expansion of the thermally expandable material relative to the position of the connection elements in a way that causes at least one pole of the overvoltage-limiting component to be out of electrically conductive contact with the corresponding connection element.

TL;DR: In this paper, an actuating part having a projecting pusher end is arranged in the box spring and can be displaced toward the terminal end of the terminal leg, thus releasing a clamped electric conductor.
Abstract: A terminal has a box spring out of whose wall there is cut at least one elastic terminal leg which is bent into the inside of the box toward an opposing abutment and which has a free terminal end between which the abutment and an electric conductor can be clamped. An actuating part having a projecting pusher end is arranged in the box spring and can be displaced toward the terminal end of the terminal leg. When pushed in, the actuating part with its inside end is pushed as a wedge between the abutment and the terminal leg, thus releasing a clamped electric conductor. The actuating part has a through-channel for insertion of the electric conductor which extends from the conductor insertion orifice on the pusher end to a conductor outlet orifice.
